  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: I liked that the raincover was adjustable to fit various size of packs--when I had extras on the outside of my pack, the cover still fit with no problem. I also didn't need to worry about over-stretching elastic cords, since you tighten it and loosen it as much as you want.

Dislikes: The only thing that was a bit annoying about the adjustability was that when you wanted to get it on your pack nice and tight in those sudden downpours, it's not very fast.

  • Luke J. San Antonio TX

Likes: It dose the job keeps your pack dry on rainy days and clean on muddy days when you may not have a rock or tree to place the or hang the pack off.

Dislikes: The mesh sack is nice but I would have prefer a water repellant sack maybe made from the same material as the cove to keep the inside of the pack dry and clean if storing while on the trail.

  • Steve F. Bellflower CA

Likes: Works great and stores into its own stuff sack. Love it!

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Steven B. Ocean NJ

Likes: Serves its purpose. Keeps your bag and internals dry. Nice fit.

Dislikes: It's extra weight and space in your bag. It's insurance. When you need it, it's worth the price and real estate in your bag.

  • Carl P. Montgomery NY

Likes: Fits my pack (Kelty Red Cloud 110) pretty well. Good quality.

Dislikes: A little bulky in pack, but not bad.

  • . Palm Bay FL

    Dislikes: No issues so far!

  • Jeremy C. Fort Myers FL

Likes: Easily fits around the pack. Keeps the pack dry. Essentially, it does its job just fine.

Dislikes: $31.45 is a little pricey considering there's not much to the product, hence the reason for the 4 stars.

  • . Pea Ridge AR

Likes: The stuff sack for this raincover is actually attached to the cover itself which is pretty neat you'll never have to worry about losing your stuff sack!

Dislikes: Kind of a universal raincover design.

  • John S. Guilderland NY

Likes: Kept pack dry while hiking from Switzerland to Italy over the Splugen pass - fit for purpose. It easily works for a variety of pack sizes. Mesh pouch.

Dislikes: Somewhat bulky - took up a lot of room in pack when not in use.

  • . Stamford CT

Likes: Lightweight, includes mesh storage pouch and cinches well around large pack.

    Dislikes: Nothing

  • Kenneth C. Queens Village NY

Likes: Product is light weight and liked the draw string to cinch around my Kelty external pack.

Dislikes: After four days of use this summer at TMR, product developed small pin holes in stress areas. I guess that's the price you pay for light weight.

  • Joe T. Avoca PA

    Likes: Excellent rain protection

    Dislikes: Nothing

  • . Coalville UT

Likes: Quality product, fits backpack, keeps your pack dry.

Dislikes: Should of came with backpack purchase instead of seperate.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Excellent rain cover, fits my Red Cloud 90 like a glove. Excellent product matched with excellent service from Back Country Edge.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Thomas M. St. Louis MO

Likes: Fits my pack well. Keeps the rain on the outside. Packs small and the weight is so low, I forget it is in my pack.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: I got this in large size for my Red Cloud 110 backpack. When I ordered it, I was a bit skeptical about its greyish-silverish color, but figured what the heck - there was no other choices in color. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and it turned out to be dark green - matching the color of my backpack! I couldn't be happier...

I haven't used it yet, but before I do that, I am going to use waterproofing solution on it (that I also got from the Edge).

The cover packs in its own attached sack, but really Kelty should have provided it with the backpack.

Dislikes: I would prefer some drain holes in the bottom of the cover, but I am going to make them myself with grommets.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Great product. Fits large packs well.

    Dislikes: No complaints yet.

  • . Hagerstown MD

Likes: Lightweight. Fits my Kelty 110.

    Dislikes: None

Likes: Now I don't have to struggle into a big, flappy poncho that is supposed to cover me and my pack. This cover is folded into a thin package, attached to the cover. It goes on easily and protects the works. (All packs should have this cover BUILT IN)

Dislikes: I did not like that this rain cover was not incorporated into my pack's design, or at least included with the pack's purchase.

  • Nathan C. Wyoming MI

Likes: This cover fit my Kelty Coyote 80 with room to spare, even with a sleeping pad strapped to the bottom of the pack. The draw cord is definitely a nice feature, as it wraps the cover around the pack for optimum protection from the elements. When not in use, the cover packs nicely into integral mesh pocket for easy storage.

    Dislikes: No dislikes so far

  • Daniel W. Raleigh NC

    Likes: Fits pack nicely

    Dislikes: N.A.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Necessary evil. I won't use it much where I am, but want to have it.

Dislikes: I probably should have included this in my review of my Kelty Red Cloud, but the rain cover should be included as part of the pack.

  • . Tuscaloosa AL

Likes: Works just as it should for keeping your pack dry.

Dislikes: Price is a little high. If you have stuff attached to the outside of your pack it will be to small to cover the whole pack.

  • Jim R. Muskegon MI

Likes: I purchased this to protect my Kelty Red Cloud 110 I recently purchased from getting "water logged" during downpours. I thought it might be a little big at first but as I put items in the pack I can see why it is so large. It does have an elastic draw cord to make it work with a not so full pack or a smaller pack. It can fold into a mesh pouch that is attached also which is nice.

    Dislikes: No issues with product.

  • Todd D. Yardville NJ

Likes: Went backpacking in very wet and rainy conditions and the raincover kept my pack nice and dry.

Dislikes: There is nothing I did not like about the raincover. It did exactly what it's designed to do.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

  • . Wisconsin Rapids WI

Likes: Easy to store with built in bag. Fits pack well.

    Dislikes: Nothing

  • Janella H. Hermitage TN

Likes: Fits the Kelty backpack Redcloud great. Looks great on the back. The Redcloud is a large pack and the rain jacket fits perfect. folds back into its own mesh bag and is slim enough to just slide back into your pack.

Dislikes: I have found nothing so far that I do not like about this rain jacket.

Dislikes: You have to use it in the rain

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: It feels like it's quality made and is waterproof.

Dislikes: It is a touch on the heavy side at just under 6 oz, but a great bargain for the price.

  • Cameron H. Wescosville PA

    Likes: Very light-weight
    Material seems durable
It was a surprise to me to find that the regular size fits my 110 2012 Red Cloud Pack

    Dislikes: nothing

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Easy to put on the backpack.

Dislikes: I wish there were color choices.

  • Kyle M. Tahlequah OK

Likes: This covered my Kelty Coyote 80 just fine, with a closed-cell sleeping pad lashed to the back of my pack. We hiked 2 hours in a downpour, mixed with dime-sized hail. The suspension system on my pack got a little wet from water getting between my back and the pack, but everything inside was dry as a bone. The cover was super easy to put on - I had it out of its storage pocket and on my pack in half a minute.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: I haven't had the chance to use it in the field but it appears to do what it is supposed to.

    Dislikes: No complaints.

  • Michael B. Traer IA

Likes: I have not used this yet but it fits my kelty pack well.

    Dislikes: nothing

  • Noall F. murray UT

Likes: Got the chance to use it during some long light rain fall (nearly 7 hours of constant rainfall). It worked very well, the areas of my pack that it covered were dry and never saw an ounce of rain.

Dislikes: Only gripe about this product is the fitting, if you carry anything on the outside of the back it will leave an area exposed. I tried different types of equipment being hung on the outside of my pack and there was always an area exposed. Moving forward with this raincover, I will need to make sure I fit everything inside my pack. If you are able to pack everything inside your pack, this will do the job nicely.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Fits my Kelty Red Cloud 90 perfectly.

Dislikes: Nothing to dislike about this product.

  • Troy W. Saint Johns FL

Likes: Fits my Recloud 90 perfect.

Likes: Good fit for our Kelty backpack, and a good price for this item.

    Dislikes: nothing

  • michael b. hiawatha IA

Likes: nice rain cover. it should be plenty large enough to cover a fully packed bag. shipping was quick. i'm overall impressed with the quality of both the pack and the rain cover that i purchased. thank you.

    Dislikes: the product was fine

  • Curt N. Florence SC

Likes: Fits will on pack, nice carry case.

    Dislikes: NA

  • margaret w. watertown CT

Likes: fits nicely over bag. folds up easily

    Dislikes: no problems

  • Kenneth M. Overland Park KS

Likes: Easy to wrap around backpack; comes with an adjustable drawstring; light weight.

Dislikes: A bit difficult to fit into storage bag. Note that the "large" version of this raincover is really large -- perhaps too large for a medium sized backpack.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: This cover easily fits over my Kelty Coyote backpack and works well to keep the rain out.

Dislikes: Seems a little larger than needed, even though was advertised for packs over 3000 cubic inches, it has a lot of slack even when my 4750 cubic inch Kelty coyote is full.

  • Chris K. Omaha NE

Likes: Initial quality looks good. The 'large' size is plenty big enough for my Red Cloud 5600.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Fits my Red Cloud well and will keep my gear dry. Works better than the garbage bag thing.

Dislikes: Kind of expensive, but dry gear in the back country can sometimes be...."priceless."

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Great raincover! Fits well around my Coyote pack and does not come loose. I really like how it folds up nice into its own mesh pocket.

Dislikes: This should come with Kelty's packs to avoid a seperate purchase.

Likes: easy fit but have not used in the rain yet

Dislikes: need more colors to choose from

  • Roseanne P. Nassau NY

Likes: Fits great over my well-stuffed pack and makes a huge difference keeping things dry - so much better to work with than a garbage bag.

    Dislikes: Nothing

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Works as advertised and much better than the trash bag technique.

    Dislikes: No complaints.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: As with all Kelty products I've used, this is excellent. It does its job of keeping rain out of the pack. My son and I use it with our Red Cloud 110 and Red Cloud 90 packs and are quite happy with it. Pricey, but it works much better than the trash bag or other improvised approach.

    Dislikes: No complaints.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: the fit on the pack is good.

Dislikes: I would have liked it to come in a packable pouch.

  • Patrick K. Independence KY

Likes: Versatile use with pack heavily loaded or very light load. If not using it in the rain. Use for a pack rest on the ground. Use it for almost anything. The attached stuff sack means you always have a place to store it.

    Dislikes: It wasn't free!

  • Arthur C. Paso Robles CA

Likes: Has kept everything dry the two times I've needed it. Easy to use and does the job.

    Dislikes: No worries!

  • Darrel B. Walker WV

Likes: This is the third one I've bought. All three are still doing great.

    Dislikes: none

  • John S. Salt Lake City UT

Likes: I ordered 2 of these raincovers - 1 for an internal 78 liter pack and 1 for an external 65 liter pack. The covers fit both of these packs to perfection (especially the external) and kept everything completely dry. This is in spite of hiking for 5 hours in a steady rain through Utah's Uintah range. Finally, you absolutely can't beat Kelty's quality or BE's price on these covers!

Dislikes: They are a little bulky and a bit on the heavy side for ultralighters. Otherwise, there's nothing to dislike!

  • Kent M. Dublin OH

Likes: Fits either the Kelty Red Cloud 90 or 110 very well. Water proof and easy to put on and secure to the pack.

    Dislikes: Only one color choice.

  • Gregory M. Orlando FL

Likes: Fits my Kelty Trekker 65 external frame backpack. Excellent warranty. Not too gaudy and comes with a nice storage bag. Have not yet used it, but good to have it available for when the time comes...especially here in rainy Florida.

  • Randy E. Fayetteville AR

Likes: This Kelty raincover fits my Red Cloud 6650 and has enough room that I can squeeze a couple of more things under it along the sides of my pack! Kept my pack dry in an all day rain.

    Dislikes: Nothing, works great!

  • don s. nixa MO

Likes: if fits the pack good, and keeps the stuff dry

Dislikes: wish it would pack a little smaller

  • michael c. lake park GA

    Likes: Great fits perfect

    Dislikes: None

  • Bobby P. San Francisco CA

Likes: Rain cover is small and compact. It has its own built in (attached) mesh stuff sack. It’s easy to throw in the pack and forget about, but wonderful to have when you have significant rain / snow on your hike. I used the large raincover with my Kelty Tioga 5500 and it fits like a glove. Cover has straps with button snaps to secure to your pack. Can be deployed without straps, but is less secure. My cover was more a dark grey / green color. It’s made of a light reinforced nylon that is indeed waterproof, kept my pack contents dry in a downpour.

Dislikes: If you expect a significant amount of precipitation, I would consider putting the rain cover on before you start your hike. If you are alone and you need to deploy it mid-hike, you will need to take your pack off to put on the cover. It can be quite the task when you are packing 60+ pounds of gear. Also keep in mind, the down side of the rain cover is you lose access to all the external pockets. Plan accordingly . Product is a little pricy, there might be more affordable options out there.

  • Allen O. Indianapolis IN

Likes: Product stows into handy mesh bag that is sewn into the cover.

    Dislikes: Works as it should.

  • Matthew G. Lenoir City TN

Likes: Works very good even in a downpour plus a perfect fit for my Kelty 3100.Loved how compact it was for my backpack and kept it totally dry

    Dislikes: Nothing to dislike

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: The raincover worked fine and was useful, just had to make sure it was pulled tight to stay over the bottom of my pack.

Dislikes: It's a little pricey for a raincover and should come with the purchase of the pack.

  • Ian H. Rochester NY

Likes: Its a rain cover. It fits our packs and keeps them dry. Not much else to say about it.

Dislikes: I could probably do without the huge logo on the back, but whatever.

  • Ted P. Edwardsburg MI

Likes: The raincover is easy to put on over my Kelty backpack. It is large, light, and easily compacts.

Dislikes: No options for colors. It would also be nice if this product was included with the Kelty packs.

  • Audrey W. Coppell TX

Likes: It fits the Coyote 3500 perfectly and protected my gear during a minor rain shower.

Dislikes: It was a little expensive, so it's worth looking for a generic rain cover that fits the size.

  • James B. Winter Springs FL

Likes: Made of good lightweight material. Fits my Coyote 4750 very nicely. I use it even without the rain as it keeps the pack clean when on the ground or loaded in a truck.

    Dislikes: Nothing. Great product.

  • Danny S. Oklahoma City OK

Likes: I like how well this raincover goes onto my pack. Cinches down tight, and is durable. Keeps my pack dry and works well with my Kelty Trekker 3900. When you're done using the raincover, it packs back into itself using the attatched pouch. Very cool product, a must if you have a Kelty pack.

Dislikes: No complaints on the raincover itself, but I think that the raincovers should come with the pack when you purchase it.

  • Matthew J. Los Osos CA

Likes: Large size perfectly fits my Kelty Redcloud 5600. Quality material, looks like it will withstand all types of weather.

Dislikes: A little expensive. Should have came with the pack in the first place.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Fit on 5600 back pack with room left over if need. Easy to adjust

Dislikes: Wish it had a few more attachments on it.

  • Christian R. Kenner LA

Likes: Not much to say about it. It's a rain cover . It seems well made. The bag that it folds into is mesh and is retained to the cover. I like that is mesh and allows some of the moisture to air out after use.

    Dislikes: So far so good.

  • Robert G. Grass Valley CA

Likes: I purchased this raincover as insurance and haven't had to use it yet, but it fits my pack perfectly.

    Dislikes: No cons yet.

  • Travis D. Red Bluff CA

Likes: I like the choice in sizes, no one size fits all where smaller packs are swimming in the cover.

Dislikes: It did not come with the Kelty pack in the first place.

  • Travis D. Red Bluff CA

Likes: I like the incorporated bag. The green color suits me since I generally like to blend into the wilderness.

Dislikes: The ability of the cover to hang onto the pack in high winds is still untested, it will ultimately be the difference between a great rating and a poor one.

  • Jay W. Cartersville GA

    Likes: Fit our backpacks perfectly

Dislikes: Too small for my son's pack.

  • Michael H. Battle Ground IN

Likes: I liked that the cover seemed to be secure on the backpack. Gave me peace-of-mind that the pack was protected from the eliments.

Likes: The rain cover easily fits over the Kelty Coyote 4750 I bought it to cover. Very light and has it's own storage bag built in.
