Product Highlights

With its innovative pole structure, spacious interior and numerous features, the Kelty Palisade 4 is ready-made for 3-season camping. Extremely well-ventilated and boasting a large, convertible front vestibule, the Palisade 4 is a cut above most tents you'll find at the campground.

DAC aluminum poles provide the Palisade 4 with reliable, freestanding structure. Color-coded clip and sleeve construction make it easy to identify which pole goes where. A "hooped" section of pole helps to maximize the interior space of the Palisade 4 and grants increased strength and stability in the process. The freestanding design allows you to pitch the Palisade 4 and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock. Stakes are included to secure the tent in place.

The Palisade 4 provides 64 square feet of interior space and a full 6 feet of interior peak height. A large front vestibule offers nearly 30 square feet of external storage and an integrated rear "hatch" provides an additional 8 feet of protected space that can be accessed from the interior of the Palisade 4. Pull-down shades in the front vestibule add privacy when needed and enhance cross-ventilation in warm weather. Internal storage pockets, lantern loops and gear loft loops help to maximize available floor space by providing places to stow and hang gear.

Extensive mesh on the tent body provides great airflow and helps to prevent condensation build-up on the interior of the Palisade 4. A PU-coated polyester-taffeta rainfly provides excellent weather and UV protection. Kelty's patented ArcEdge construction lifts the taped floor seams up off the ground, eliminating potential for leaks.

An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the Kelty Palisade 4 against ground water, roots and rocks.

Likes: Palisade 4: This is a great car camping/base camp tent. The design makes it incredibly roomy when compared to other style tents. Easily stand up in most of the tent (not just the middle). Me, my wife, and the dog easily fit (queen size mattress). Includes big stuff sack. We love the front vestibule with its built in cup holders and pockets and the privacy it provides. The back has a small opening that you could crawl through or use to grab gear close to the tent. Kids would love this opening or you can use it to let the dog in the tent. Sturdy construction and kept us dry in all weather. Lots of loops to secure the tent. It is a good looking tent. We love it!

Dislikes: We love this tent, but its not for everyone. The tent is basically a giant screen room until you add the rain fly. This is great for star gazing but if you want privacy you will have to add the rain fly which isn't hard but can be tricky putting up. Keep this in mind if you camp in crowded campgrounds. If there is even a hint of rain then add the rain fly. This has to be staked down and the included stakes are horrible cheap aluminum. Takes 2 people to setup, unless you are super skilled. Buy extra stakes and rope. Lots of secure points for extreme weather, and included instructions don't mention any of these loop/tie points so you just use them depending on if needed.
