New for 2008! Updating the features that have made its Light Year series such a trail favorite, Kelty introduces the Light Year Down 20 Degree Women's sleeping bag. With a trail weight well under 3 lbs. and warm, compressible down fill, the Light Year Down 20 Degree provides female backpackers with excellent 3-season performance.

Kelty's Women's sleeping bag models are cut to more closely follow the contours of a woman's body, maximizing thermal efficiency. Compared to the men's versions, these bags are narrower at the shoulders, roomier at the hips and have extra insulation in the mid-section and foot of the bag, prime areas for heat loss.

The Light Year Down 20 Degree Women's sleeping bag is insulated with 650-fill goose down. Down not only has a soft, comfortable feel, it continues to be the insulation with the best warmth-to-weight ratio. The feathers and fibers are renowned for containing body heat and are very easily compressed, taking up less space in your pack. The one downfall to this insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet. A polyester microfiber liner provides internal comfort.

Box-baffle construction with wave stitching eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the inside of the Light Year Down 20 Degree Women's sleeping bag. A contoured hood, insulated baffle collar and draft tube behind the hip-length zipper combine to further insulate against the cold. In balmier weather, an integrated, zippered foot vent allows ventilation.

Other features found on the Light Year Down 20 Degree Women's bag include internal liner loops, external snap loops that allow the bag itself to be used as a liner, sleeping pad security loops and hanging loops for convenient storage.

The Kelty Light Year Down 20 Degree Women's sleeping bag is available in Regular (fits up to 5'6") and Long (fits up to 6'0") lengths. An ultra-light compression stuff sack and storage sack are included.
