Product Highlights

With its innovative pole structure, spacious interior and numerous features, the Kelty Hula House 4 is ready-made for 3-season camping. Extremely well-ventilated, the Hula House 4 is a cut above most tents you'll find at the campground.

DAC aluminum poles provide the Hula House 4 with reliable, freestanding structure. Color-coded clip and sleeve construction make it easy to identify which pole goes where. A "hooped" section of pole helps to maximize the interior space of the Hula House 4 and grants increased strength and stability in the process. The freestanding design allows you to pitch the Hula House 4 and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock. Stakes are included to secure the tent in place.

The Hula House 4 provides 64 square feet of interior space and a full 6 feet of interior peak height. A large front vestibule offers 22.5 square feet of external storage. Internal storage pockets and gear-loft loops help to maximize available floor space by providing places to stow and hang gear.

Extensive mesh on the tent body provides great airflow and helps to prevent condensation build-up on the interior of the Hula House 4. A PU-coated polyester-taffeta rainfly provides excellent weather and UV protection. Kelty's patented ArcEdge construction lifts the taped, floor seams up off the ground, eliminating potential for leaks.

An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the Kelty Hula House 4 against ground water, roots and rocks.

Likes: easy to setup design is very roomy inside.

Dislikes: The storm flap needs to ahve the zippers go farther up so you can fold the flap back easier.

Likes: After a lot of use, including 51 days and 17 camping sites, there is not much that I do like, other than the spaciousness and height that it has. Maybe, the price I paid for it, with footprint, at BackCountry Edge. Oh yes, the inside attachments for the fly to the poles - but I had to duck to fasten them. Backcountry Edge's renowned service makes up for Kelty's.

Dislikes: The quality that is missing (but expected), including that of the flimsy 65D flooring, the lack of rip-stop, sewing, and the "hoop" or circular pole. Out of the box I had to replace it, and now another is developing problems. And it is difficult to set-up or take down. The word is: Quality Control. The need to go through 3 zippers for privacy as there is only mesh on the door-way. Kelty's lack of service to back up their warranty.
