Updated for 2013! While not the lightest 1-person tent on the market, the Gunnison 1.2 is roomy enough for tall hikers to stretch out and provides solid construction and durable weather protection for any solo backpacker.
Swivel-hubbed DAC Pressfit aluminum poles offer strength and stability to the Gunnison 1.2. Lightweight corner supports and Jake's Foot stakeouts help to eliminate pole rotation and increase the overall strength of the tent considerably. Color coded clip construction makes the tent a cinch to set up. The freestanding design allows you to pitch the Gunnison 1.2 and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock.
The Gunnison 1.2 provides 18 square feet of interior space and 8 square feet in the vestibule for stowing gear and muddy boots. Boasting a length of 91", the Gunnison 1.2 offers even the tallest backpacker room to stretch out at the end of a long day on the trail. Kelty includes a gear loft to maximize livability by allowing you to store clothes and gear overhead.
Sidewall vents, and fly vents provide great airflow, preventing condensation build-up on the interior of the Gunnison 1.2. A PU-coated polyester rainfly provides excellent weather and UV protection. A welded, clear window in the rainfly provides a view of the outside. Kelty's patented ArcEdge construction lifts the floor seams up off the ground, eliminating the potential for leaks.
An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the Kelty Gunnison 1.2 against ground water, roots and rocks.
