Product Highlights

Priced to appeal to cost-conscious backpackers and campers, the Kelty Grand Mesa 4 tent provides excellent value and performance for 3-season use. Foregoing all of the bells and whistles of higher-priced tents, the no-frills Grand Mesa 4 offers solid construction and functional design at an affordable price.

The Grand Mesa 4 provides 53 square feet of interior space and a vestibule offers 9.5 square feet of additional exterior space for stowing gear and muddy boots. The combination of sidewall vents and mesh fabric used on the tent body provides excellent ventilation for combating condensation build-up and keeping you cool during warm weather.

The Grand Mesa 4 uses color coded clip construction that eliminates the hassle of feeding poles through cumbersome tent sleeves. Just slide the shock-corded pole sections together and attach the clips. The freestanding design of the Grand Mesa 4 allows you to pitch the tent and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock.

The PU polyester-taffeta rainfly and taped seams of the Grand Mesa 4 protect the interior of the tent from wind and rain.

An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the Kelty Grand Mesa 4 against ground water, roots and rocks.

Likes: It's big enough to fit a queen size air mattress and still has room for whatever items you bring.

    Dislikes: none

Likes: Easy to set up, color coded loops match the color of the poles. Consists of 2 poles, the tent, rain fly and stakes, so it is really simple, yet sturdy. Rain fly works well and covers to the ground; we stayed in the tent for a rainy weekend and stayed dry.

Dislikes: While the rain fly can be staked out at corners and the middle of each side, the tent itself only has stake loops on the corners. Would be nice to stake out from the middle of each side to allow more space inside.

Likes: Easy to set up and take down. Everything was true to the product description

Dislikes: I knew it did not come with a gear loft net, but I really do miss it. Have to find one!

Likes: Nice Tent! Used for backpacking with kids - put 5 of them in there. Vent is good, very little condensation, door and zipper configuration on fly and tent is good too. Have had the Teton 4 for years, this is a good upgrade.

    Dislikes: No issues

Likes: Easy to setup and take down even with a moderate amount of wind. Used it where the temperature dropped to 38 degrees with 2 adults and 1 child, excellent ventilation with no condensation. Very good deal for the price and I am very pleased with the purchase.

Dislikes: Only small complaint is the vestibule is a little smaller than expected.
