Product Highlights

The Kelty Cosmic Down 20 Degree sleeping bag is designed for 3-season backpacking and camping. Lightweight, compressible down fill and an array of features make the affordable Cosmic Down 20 Degree a real bargain.

The Cosmic Down 20 Degree sleeping bag is insulated with 550-fill power down. Down has a soft, comfortable feel and continues to be the insulation with the best warmth-to-weight ratio. The feathers and fibers are renowned for containing body heat and are very easily compressed, so the Cosmic Down 20 Degree bag takes up less space in your backpack. The one downfall to this insulation is that it loses much of its ability to maintain warmth when it gets wet.

Box-baffle construction eliminates cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the Cosmic Down 20 Degree bag. A draft tube behind the 58", two-way locking zipper, an insulated top draft collar and a contoured hood with an insulated hood baffle further enhance the thermal efficiency of the Cosmic Down 20 Degree bag. The hood utilizes Kelty's patented FatMan and Ribbon drawcords, allowing you to adjust the top or lower sections of the hood by feel even when it's dark outside. A polyester taffeta liner provides internal comfort.

Other features found on the Cosmic Down 20 Degree include sleeping pad security loops, internal liner loops and hanging loops.

The Kelty Cosmic Down 20 Degree sleeping bag is available in Short (fits up to 5’ 6"), Regular (up to 6' 0") and Long (up to 6' 6") lengths. Each Cosmic Down 20 Degree bag includes a stuff sack.

Likes: Warm, packs down smaller than my old synthetic bag. Good, snug fit.

Dislikes: The zipper can snag if not careful, but the zipper seems better than some bags I've used before.

  • John M. Black Mountain NC

    Likes: Comfortable and warm bag.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • . Sherwood AR

Likes: This bag is exactly how I expected it to be. Very light, comfortable and warm. The zippers zip very easily and did not snag. I am 5' 11 and didn't feel cramped at all. Backcountry packaging even had a nice warning on the box to be careful cutting open the box to avoid damaging the bag. Common sense but a nice touch.

    Dislikes: Nothing at all.

  • Sergio L. Jericho NY

Likes: Very warm, great value for the buck. Nice and warm

Dislikes: Wish it had anti snare zipper.

  • . Pea Ridge AR

Likes: The first trip I took it out on it got down to about 40 and I didn't even have to zip the bag all the way up to stay warm. So much better than my old bag, I think I will definitely be comfortable sleeping at 20 in this bag. It is really compact too. I was able to get my bag, pad, and pillow in my sleeping bag compartment.

Dislikes: No complaints, great product. Worth the money.

  • Adam W. Mechanicsburg PA

    Likes: Affordable, lightweight

    Dislikes: nothing

  • . Hagerstown MD

Likes: I have used this on several camping trips. I purchased it for backpacking. It is very lightweight, and warm. I purchased the long mummy.

    Dislikes: No dislikes

  • Peter K. Durham NC

Likes: nice and light. i got this for my older boy who's in boy scout and have been carry rather heavey sleeping bag. we'll be testing it out soon enough to see how it will hold up out in the field.

Dislikes: nothing really to say bad about.

  • . aurora CO

Likes: Packs VERY small using "Ultra Sil Compression Sack". I have 2 bags "Regular/right and Long/right"..They seem to get the job done .I have yet to test in 20-30 degree conditions. Have tested in 40-50 degree no issues "you could say i was too hot at times".

    Dislikes: nothing so far..

  • . Friendswood TX

Likes: Great 550 down bag. Haven't used it during a really cold night yet but I have no doubts it will be perfect. Well made quality product that you cannot beat for the price. Very lightweight and stuffs down to a very small package. Overall, love it.

Dislikes: Need to slow down when using the zipper because it has a tendency to pinch the liner. Not a big problem if you remember to place your finger in front and guide the zipper.

  • . Highland Park NJ

Likes: Comfortably warm and easy to use the features.

Dislikes: Fit a bit too snug around my legs (I'm a bit under 5 ft. and petite). It may be a simple reason that my old bag was a rectangular shape and I personally like to move my legs around when I sleep. Also concerned that the zipper will snag the material.

  • . Norton OH

    Likes: Good Value, Durable, Dry

    Dislikes: Little bit bulky

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Just as other reviews and awards state: A Truely Awesome Sleeping Bag for the $$$

My initial impression was "Wow, that thing packs small and is light!"
My second impression was "Damn, I got a good deal!"

Have not used the insulation for cold weather yet, but Im sure itll hold just fine as rated. This bag will be paired with my 2013 BigAgnes Insulated Core pad for warmth retention.

PS Im 5'10, 165lbs/athletic build and I fit very comfy in the Regular.

There is plenty of foot space to move around in, that Kelty for not making this one pointy and bottle-necking precious foot movement during sleep (so uncomfortable when its pointy!)

    Dislikes: nothing!!!

  • Joshua B. Moses Lake WA

Likes: Good warmth for the weight of the bag. Can size down with compression straps.

    Dislikes: None

Dislikes: Nitpicking but the color isn't my favorite

    Slick material
Compresses down to a small size
