Product Highlights

The Kelty Basecamp Pad is a self-inflating pad that provides campers with maximum comfort and room to sprawl. Die-cut foam provides a full 2.5 inch base of padding and sueded fabric makes for a comfortable sleeping surface.

The self-inflating foam of the Basecamp Pad provides warmth, cushioned support and compressibility for ease of transport and storage. When the integrated dual valves are opened, the open-cell foam automatically begins to absorb air and expand. Once you've given the Basecamp Pad adequate time to inflate, you can expand it to its fullest loft by adding a few extra puffs of air or adjust the firmness by releasing air before fully closing the valves.

The full dimensions of the Kelty Basecamp Pad are 78" x 25" x 2.5". Each Basecamp Pad includes a repair kit and attached roll-up straps (packed size of 27" x 8").

Likes: Very comfortable. Easy to use.

    Dislikes: Nothing

Likes: • Inflates easily - only requires a couple of additional breath blows to fully inflate
    • Very comfortable - especially on rocky/hard ground
    • Easy to deflate and roll up
    • Good quality brass valves
    • Good for car/canoe camping
    • Stuff sack large enough so that the pad will fit even if it isn't completely deflated

Dislikes: • Larger than expected - would not use for backpacking (however I bought it for a canoe trip - well worth the extra size/weight)

Likes: the 2.5" thickness to sleep on. good quality. the fabric on one side.

Dislikes: it takes a while (20-30 minutes) for the mat to come to full 2.5" thickness.
the width is a little wide for packing to camp.
I can not get the tie downs to unlatch, I have to remove the strap from the buckle each time and I do not think that is why they have buckles.....
I wish I had bought the double for me and spouse instead of packing two air beds. :-(

Likes: great pad it is nice and firm and sleeping bag doesn't slide off like my old pad. comes with it's own straps and the storage bag actually is big enough to get it in fast and easy.

Likes: The pad was very comfortable when sleeping on the ground. I don't know if we cleaned away all the rocks and bumps, but this was a very nice night's sleep. The pad was inflated on Wednesday and deflated on Sunday with no noticeable loss of air.
