Product Highlights

A great entry-level alternative to the low-end tents found at many big box retailers, the economical Kelty Acadia 6 offers two doors, two vestibules and plenty of overhead room. The Acadia 6 is a durable, cost-effective option for family campers.

The Acadia 6 provides a whopping 80 square feet of interior space and just over 6 feet of overhead peak height! Internal storage pockets provide places to stow gear and maximize available floor space for sleeping or playing games on a rainy day. Two doors offer easy entry and exit points and two vestibules, of 33 and 13 square feet (46 square feet combined), offer additional exterior storage space for muddy shoes or a protected area to store fire wood or camp chairs in wet weather.

NOTE: The Acadia 6's fiberglass poles are heavier and more fragile than aluminum poles, but wrapped construction makes them stronger than the fiberglass poles found on many department store tents. A third brow pole, constructed from DAC Hybrid aluminum, and continuous pole-sleeve construction help to reinforce the structure and support the rainfly of the Acadia 6.

A full, mesh canopy allows for good ventilation in warm, humid weather and the ArcEdge floor design with taped seams protects the floor for the Acadia 6 tent from wet weather. An optional footprint (sold separately) further protects the floor of the Kelty Acadia 6 camping tent against ground water, roots and rocks.

Likes: Size was just right to create roomy environment for 2 adults and 1 large dog without an excessive footprint. I'm 6'3" and could stand up in tent and vestibules. The vestibules were actually very useable, which isn't the norm. Encountered hard rains also and everything stayed dry.

Dislikes: Would be tough for one person to attach fly if they are under 6' tall. I would recommend attaching it before raising tent.

Likes: The tent is spacious, including the vestibules. The front vestibule is large enough to stand in (or even put a chair or two). That really helps when staying dry and taking off shoes, etc. It is also easy to set up. Most first time tent users would be able to do it without instructions, though putting the rain fly over the top is a bit tricky with only one person (since the tent is tall).

Dislikes: The only thing I did not like were the two pole sleeves. Setting a tent up quickly is not so easy when you have to thread a 10-12 foot pole through a long, skinny sleeve. Clips would make set up much quicker/easier for one person.

Likes: Great tent. Goes up easy and goes back in the stuff sack easily. Will update when I get experience with bad weather. So far so good.

    Dislikes: Nothing yet.
