Perfect for use in base camps, for family camping or on group trips, the Katadyn Base Camp is a simple-to-use 2.6 gallon water bag. The Base Camp allows you to set up a single water source for your entire group and eliminates the need to repeatedly pump and filter smaller amounts of water.
Just fill the Base Camp by lowering it into a nearby water source and hang it up using the convenient easy-open/close buckle system. Water is ready to drink immediately, filtered as it feeds through a pleated 0.3 micron Hiker PRO glass fiber filter and on through the Base Camp's 48" output hose. An activated carbon core reduces unpleasant tastes and odors, ensuring fresh-tasting water. An on/off valve at the end of the output hose makes pouring quick and easy.
The replaceable cartridge produces up to 200 gallons of drinking water, depending on the quality of the water source. Using the included filter protector will help to extend the life of the Base Camp's cartridge by shielding it from wear and tear.

Likes: Fast Shipping.
Dislikes: Instruction sheet was poorly printed.(illegible) Of course it is a filter bag and is rather easy to setup. A real on/off valve would be nice.

Likes: Lightweight and packs small but man this thing holds a lot of water. Not designed for gather water on the move but when you get to camp it filters enough water for a group of people. You can't go wrong with Katadyn's filter (uses the same as the Hiker Pro).
Dislikes: I wish it came with a storage bag (like the Hiker Pro) so all the pieces stay more organized in your pack. It's also slower than the Hiker Pro but since you're at camp there's no hurry anyway.
