Product Highlights

Striking a balance between weight and durability, the high-performance Gregory Z55 employs lightweight, high-tenacity fabrics and an innovative, streamlined suspension system to provide load carrying capability without the bulk and burden of a full-blown expedition pack.

Sleek enough for adventure racing, the Z55's ability to carry up to 40 lbs. of gear makes it versatile enough for ultra-lightweight weekend or multi-day backpacking trips. The standard capacity of the medium-sized Z55 is 3350 cubic inches.

Having spent numerous years and countless miles out on the trail, the designers at Gregory are well aware of the problems that arise from ill-fitting backpacks. Unwilling to compromise comfort or load-carrying capability, Gregory's commitment to providing the perfect fit is evident in the technology used in their harness and JetStream suspension systems. A single lightweight, hollow stay and a molded and perforated V-beam framesheet work in tandem to support the stability of the Z55 by distributing weight evenly and transferring the load to your hips. The ventilated moisture wicking harnesses, waistbelt and backpanel enhance fit, aid in load transfer, provide cushioning and keep you cool on the trail. A sternum strap and load-lifter straps further enhance the fit of the Z55 and ensure the stability of your load, allowing convenient adjustment while on the trail.

The single main compartment of the Z55 has an extendible drawstring-closed top entry and a zippered entry allows full side access to the pack body. A large zippered front pocket provides a secure place to secure additional gear and a huge "bucket" pocket with mesh sides offers convenient storage for gear or wet clothes. The Z55's extendible lid includes an integrated stowaway pocket. All of the zippers used on the Z55 are designed to be weather resistant.

The Z55 also includes side compression straps, quick-access waistbelt pockets and gear loops. An integrated sleeve and exit port make the Z55 hydration compatible.

Made of durable 210D HT "double box" rip-stop nylon fabric, the Z55 is available in your choice of Saffron, Flint Gray or Moroccan Blue color options. The Z55 is available in S, M and L size options.

Likes: Absolutely love this pack! Fits perfect, plenty of room, comfortable, durable...perfect for a weekend hike!

Dislikes: my only complaint is that it doesn't have a compartment for the sleeping bag that is accessible at the bottom. you can still get to it with no problem, the bottom compartment is just more convenient.

Likes: The pack conformed to my back beautifully and made traveling easier. The side pockets on the waistband made accessing travel documents and iPod convenient. The lifting straps helped with taking off and putting on the pack. The pack is just small enough to be used as hand baggage on an airplane. It fits well in the overhead compartments. Although the pack is rated for multi-day/weekend excursions, I had no problem traveling for two weeks with it.

Dislikes: My upper back did sweat a little with the pack, but if it were not 95 degrees with close to 100% humidity I probably would not have sweat even that much. With a full load, the expandable front bucket pocket was not as useful since it was not accessible.

Likes: I am quite satisfied with Z55's main advantages as following:

1)The Z55 is euipped with YKK slide fastener, which uses the technology of ultrasonic apertureless welding

2)Though the pack is amazingly light, the backpanel and waistbelt is quite firm to load the weight (In particular, the backpane is really ventilate for hikers, who are easy to sweat.

3)The knock-down pack on the top can hold small items like camera, gloves and etc

4)The front bucket pocket is expandable to store one jacket when hiking

Dislikes: Because it is suggested that Z55 load the max weight of 16kg, it would not be suitable for hiking more than 5 days.
