New for 2010! The panel-loading Gregory Tarne 36 combines an innovative suspension system with convenient access points to offer high-performance at an affordable price. The Tarne 36 offers versatility for day hiking, climbing or winter sports.
Having spent numerous years and countless miles out on the trail, the designers at Gregory are well aware of the problems that arise from ill-fitting backpacks. Unwilling to compromise comfort or load-carrying capability, Gregory's commitment to providing the perfect fit is evident in the technology used in the Tarne 36’s harness and JetStream LTS (Load Transfer Suspension) suspension systems. A single lightweight, hollow stay and a molded HDPE framesheet work in tandem to support the stability of the Tarne 36 by distributing weight evenly and transferring the load to your hips. A horizontal anti-barreling cross stay bolsters the pack for carrying heavy loads. When you’d prefer to travel light, the vertical stay and framesheet can be removed entirely. The ventilated moisture wicking harnesses, waistbelt and backpanel enhance fit, aid in load transfer, provide cushioning and keep you cool on the trail. An updated proprietary waistbelt system allows you to choose between three different adjustable lengths to provide optimal fit. An adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps further enhance the fit of the Tarne 36 and ensure the stability of your load, allowing convenient on-the-go adjustment. Gregory’s proprietary Wraptor Stabilizer pulls the backpanel of the pack in tight against the lumbar area to effectively transfer weight.
The single main compartment can be accessed through the top of the packbag. A vertical zipper running the length of the pack allows the face of the Tarne 36 to open wide for gaping access to the interior of the pack. A front zippered pocket provides a secure place to secure additional gear. An integrated lid pocket and zippered waistbelt pocket offer further places for stowing gear.
The Tarne 36 also includes side compression straps, multiple gear loops, ice axe/trekking pole loops and dual side mesh water bottle pockets. A lined internal sleeve and integrated exit ports make the Tarne 36 hydration system (sold separately) compatible.
Available in your choice of color options, the Gregory Tarne 36 comes in S (2624 cubic inch storage capacity), M (2746 cu in) and L (2868 cu in) sizes.
