New for 2008! Designed to appeal to lightweight devotees and thru-hikers, the GoLite Shangri-La 2 shelter offers ultra-lite versatility for use in varied seasons. Large enough to snugly accommodate up to two inhabitants, the Shangri-La 2 is lightweight enough to serve as a roomy one person shelter. The packed weight of the Shangri-La 2 is less than 2 pounds.

The Shangri-La 2 provides 49 square feet of protected interior space. Dual roof vents allow air to circulate and combat condensation build-up. The ultra-lite waterproof SilLite fabric of the Shangri-La 2 boasts an impressive tear-strength ratio while keeping packed weight to a minimum.

A dual-peak design allows the Shangri-La 3 to be erected with two adjustable trekking poles (not included) or by suspending the shelter from overhead branches via integrated external peak loops. The steep pitch of the Shangri-La 2 effectively sheds both rain and snow, making the Shangri-La 2 surprisingly weather-resistant. Multiple stake out loops and 6 included stakes allow the Shangri-La 2 to be pulled taut and pitched securely.

NOTE: A minimalist shelter, the Shangri-La 2 does not include a floor. The GoLite Shangri-La 2 Nest can be purchased separately to provide a mesh interior with the Shangri-La 2 serving as a rainfly canopy. Also sold separately, the Shangri-La 2 Floor can be used to lend the Shangri-La 2 greater weather protection and extended season versatility.
