If you're carrying a light load and the terrain is technical, the Garmont Women's Amica Mid GTX Hiking Shoe is ready to go! Garmont's ADD construction offers a great fit and has an aggressive sole that tackles technical trails with ease. GORE-TEX construction combined with suede and abrasion-resistant mesh keep feet dry and comfortable.
Garmont's ADD (Anatomically Directed Design) fit includes features like asymmetrical cuff height, a no drift tongue and offset ankle pads. Each of these features reflects the natural, asymmetrical build of the human foot and creates a more comfortable fit with fewer points of contact for your boot to rub or put pressure on your foot. A three position web retention system through the heel, mid-foot and fore-foot increase support and Garmont's Fiore Arch Wrap uses a PU (polyurethane) sidewall for increased arch support.
Under foot you'll find a tri-density midsole and PU petals to improve forefoot flex, shock absorption and rebound along with a layer of EVA and an Arco mid-foot shank. A Vibram outsole with 6mm heel lugs and a heel brake for better traction on steep descents make the Women's Amica Mid GTX a good option for varied terrain in wet weather.
Sold in pairs, the Garmont Women's Amica Mid GTX Hiking Shoe is available in full and half sizes. To keep the leather on this boot in good shape and to prevent water absorption in the upper for the life of the boot, you should apply a fabric and leather conditioner as well as a waterproofing treatment (both sold separately).
