Product Highlights

The innovative Exped SynMat 7 sleeping pad has garnered numerous awards. A built-in pump makes inflation incredibly simple and microfiber insulation enhances the year-round performance of the SynMat 7.

The SynMat 7 employs separated air chambers to provide 2.8 inches of comfortable support. High-performance laminated polyester fabric is air tight, slip proof and offers both UV and abrasion resistance. A layer of microfiber insulation laminated to the bottom and top of each baffled air chamber eliminates cold spots. The combined thickness of the SynMat 7 and the insulation lend the pad an R-value of 4.9, making it far warmer than most comparable inflatable sleeping pads and an excellent choice for year round use, including moderate temperature snow camping.

Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture but Exped's proprietary, fabric lamination process creates air tight baffles and prevents moisture build up in the pad from destroying these glues, resulting in no loss of air over time. Another stand out feature of the SynMat 7 is flat valve construction. Separate valves for inflation and deflation offer a high volume of air flow in and out of the pad making inflating and deflating the pad fast and easy. Many inflatable sleeping pads fail due to their valve construction but Exped's Flat valve technology eliminates the stiff edge commonly found around traditional valves. This results in lasting, durable valve construction for the life of the pad.

Each Exped SynMat 7 has its own integrated built-in pump. Why fuss with blowing up the pad manually when you can let the pump do the work for you? Adding additional value, each SynMat 7 includes its own stuff sack and field repair kit.

The Exped SynMat 7 is available in Small (64" x 21"), Medium (72" x 21") and Long/Wide (78" x 26") lengths.

Sizes available: Long/Wide, Medium, Small

Likes: Very warm and comfortable even for side sleeping. I wish I had had one of these years ago.
The integrated pump is very convenient especially if you need to top the sleeping pad off (or you usually can't remember where in your backpack you put the pump). It takes about 120 pumps(1-2minutes) to pump up the pad which is not a problem but I would not want to do it in a hot tent. I almost bought the UL version to save volume and weight but the standard version fabric felt more durable and more natural to the touch and the pad had a higher R value.

Dislikes: It would be nice if it was smaller and lighter but If that becomes really important to me I will buy the UL version.

Likes: Fairly light, packs super small. Easy to inflate with integrated pump.

Dislikes: I haven't found any cons yet.

Likes: I use this with both of my Big Anges sleeping bags. I love that you don't roll off the pad during the night.

    Dislikes: So far - nothing.

Likes: I love this sleeping pad/air mattress. It provides a good amount of insulation for three season use and is very comfortable. I like the surface, how thick the pad inflates to, how small it packs, and the built in pump.

Dislikes: The only things I don't like so much, and it may not be possible to improve them, is the weight, and the fact that it does not accommodate a Schnozel so that a Shrink Bag can be used to inflate it.

Likes: The warmth, made a huge difference compared to my non-insulated sleeping pad. Rolls up and deflates quickly.

Dislikes: Take's awhile to inflate with integrated pump. I did end up blowing a couple of deep breaths into it to speed up the process. I was inflating it nightly though.

Likes: Very comfortable, packs nicely and seems to be very durable. Pump is a great feature to prevent moisture building up in the pad. It works as advertised.

Dislikes: Having to practice CPR every night. On the second night of a two night backpack trip my back did get a little sore pumping up the mat. Nothing unbearable but it was the only thing I don't like about the mat. I actually LOVE the mat!

Likes: This mattress supports my weight very nicely and insulates me from the ground which is greatly induces a good night rest. I even use it at times when not camping for a quick nap in my office.

    Dislikes: Nothing. Works as advertised.

Likes: Nice and compact, comfortable, and comes with a stuff sack and a field repair kit.

I'm 5'10" and the medium is a perfect size for full coverage.

Dislikes: The inflation system is a little hard to get used to, but works great once you get the hang of it. Overall, not a negative, but the only thing I wasn't a fan of immediately.

Likes: Much better than the thin, self-infating pads I had used before

Dislikes: Takes a little effort to pump up, but well worth it when you sleep good.

Likes: Great sleeping pad. I first aired it up too much, but kept letting air out until the pad felt good.
I could rollover and not have my hips dig into the ground.

Works well with the Agnes sleeping bag..

Dislikes: I cannot think of anything i disliked about the pad, except for the pump. Seemed like it took forever to fill up the pad.

Likes: Like the thickness of the pad to keep the cold or heat away from my body. Rolls up small and the interal pump is nice.

Dislikes: cost is high, but quality is good.

Likes: Perfect pad for avid backpackers willing to sacrifice weight for comfort.

Dislikes: Looks like holes may easy to open, but have had no such issues yet

Likes: Great mat, didn't get dizzy from having to blow this up myself - the build-in pump was very helpful. Also kept me warm from the ground. Slept like a baby the first time using it out on the trail.

Dislikes: Nothing I did not like - looked like I was giving CPR to my mat while inflating but well worth not getting light headed from blowing it up myself.
