Product Highlights

An excellent balance of weight (13.04 ounces per pair) and year-round performance, Exped Alpine 125 trekking poles incorporate ergonomic, extended length grips, easy-to-use locking mechanisms and lightweight DAC aluminum construction. Three telescoping pole sections allow the Alpine 125 to collapse down small while providing a broad range of adjustability (37"-49").

A push button mechanism easily engages the "non slip grooves" locking system, allowing for quick adjustments. Internal expanders provide a confident lock so sections aren't susceptible to slippage while in use. Housed within the shaft sections, the mechanisms are protected from dirt and debris. The streamlined design of the locking mechanisms allows the Alpine 125 poles to collapse all the way down to 22".

Lightweight EVA foam grips provide contoured, comfortable handholds. These textured grips extend far down the upper pole sections, allowing you to adjust where you grasp the Alpine 125 poles while eliminating the need to shorten or extend the poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Padded, adjustable webbing straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.

Press-fit carbide Flex Tips work in tandem with low-profile trekking baskets to provide Alpine 125 poles with optimal backcountry traction. Adding versatility, swappable Snow Baskets and Clip Powder Baskets are included for use in snow and varied conditions.

Likes: This is an aluminum trekking pole that compares favorably to carbon in weight at a considerably lower price. Light weight, compact, and durable. Suitable for ultra-light backpacking or trail running/ ultra running where poles are an asset.

Dislikes: The pin lock lower section is sometimes a bit awkward to align and disengage.
