Easton Artica Backcountry snowshoes are built for serious winter adventure. A combination of innovative features, performance design and rugged construction garnered Artica Backcountry snowshoes a prestigious Outside magazine Gear of the Year Award in 2009.

Constructed of a USA-built 7075 aerospace alloy, the Artica Backcountry’s two-piece articulating frame flexes when in use to help maintain a natural stride and absorb some of the stress that is transferred to your ankles, knees and hips by more traditional snowshoes. Further ensuring a natural stride, a Virtual Pivot Traction Cam provides independently pivoting arms that deliver positive footing. An exclusive shock-absorbing design keeps your heel properly aligned while returning energy with every step. Quick-Cinch bindings offer adjustability for a wide range of footwear, including sneakers, hikers or snow boots. The pull-and-go mechanism is easy-to-use and safely secures footwear in place.

With a two-pronged design, the lightweight split-axis 7075 aluminum toe claws found on Artica Backcountry snowshoes adjust with each to step to provide enhanced traction. Aggressive Rear Traction and an additional heel crampon enable Artica Backcountry snowshoes to tackle extreme conditions. Delivering non-slip traction, BlizTrac 3-Dimensioinal Decking is lightweight, flexible, durable and both abrasion and puncture resistant (NOTE: A minimum base of 6"-8" of snow is suggested for usage in order to properly protect the integrity of the decking material.).

Sold in pairs, Easton Artica Backcountry snowshoes are available in three sizes. The 21 inch size is suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of up to 120 pounds. The 25 inch snowshoes support a weight of 120-180 pounds and the 30 inch shoes accommodate a total weight over 180 pounds.
