Product Highlights

Designed to be used with SingleNest or DoubleNest hammocks, the Slap Strap PRO suspension system by Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) makes set-up easy and provides a secure berth for sleeping or lounging. Fully adjustable, the SlapStrap PRO allows you to hang your hammock almost anywhere without any knot-tying ability or the hassle and weight of non-cooperative rope.

Using the SlapStrap suspension system is easy and allows you to set up your hammock in no time. Simply wrap the SlapStrap PRO around a sturdy object, pass the end back through any of the SlapStrap PRO's six integrated loops, pull the end tight to provide maximum tension and attach to your hammock. Despite weighing less than a standard ENO SlapStrap, the SlapStrap PRO has the same weight-bearing strength and includes additional length for greater hanging options. Two SlapStrap PROs work in tandem to allow you to take advantage of contacts points over 20 feet apart! Though the SlapStrap PRO was designed specifically for use with ENO SingleNests and DoubleNests, it can be used with virtually any hammock.

The SlapStrap PRO's soft UV-treated nylon webbing holds up to wear and tear and, unlike traditional ropes and lash straps, the SlapStrap PRO doesn't cause damage to trees when cinched into place.

WARNING: As accidents can happen, do not exceed the maximum weight of 400 lbs. and do not hang your hammock more than 18 inches above the ground. Always make certain that the surface beneath your hammock is free of rocks or sharp objects.

The ENO SlapStrap PRO is sold in pairs and includes a stuff sack with drawstring closure. NOTE: The color of the stuff sack may vary.

    8/19/2013

Likes: Straps were definitely long enough, and may be fine if you are a lighter person than me.

Dislikes: It seemed they stretched out too much and I could not get them high enough to stay off the ground. I tried the same hammock with my Atlas straps and that didn't happen so I would assume the slimmer straps are the problem. If you are heavier like I am, I would recommend going with the Atlas straps.

Likes: Fits perfectly with the hammock.

Dislikes: Sometimes it feels like it is going to give a little.

Likes: If you're going with an Eagles Nest hammock, then you should really consider this strap suspension system. Easy to use. Strong and durable.

Dislikes: Seems it might be priced a little high or should have been included with the Eagle's Nest hammock itself.

  • Jonathan M. Frankfort KY

Likes: Easy to deploy and lightweight.

    Dislikes: Nothing, great item.

  • Kenneth J. Des Plaines IL
    11/22/2012

Likes: Great addition to my hammock. Makes me less concerned about doing any damage to trees and feels far more secure than the standard hanging method.

Dislikes: Took me a minute to figure them out.

  • Raja B. Elmhurst NY
    10/9/2012

Likes: Very easy to use, works perfectly with the hammock.

Dislikes: Ridiculous that I have to spend $20+ extra to get straps for a hammock. The hammock should come with straps already, this is a way for them to make money. The straps also seem to make a stretching sound when used for the first few times and it can be scary sounding the hammock is about to tear down.

Dislikes: nothing, gets the job done.

Dislikes: I'm too short to hang them high enough.

Likes: So glad I bought this to go along with my two person ENO. Sweet. Necessary but totally worth the extra cash.

Dislikes: That it didn't come with it? Really though, nothing.

  • Jason A. Southlake TX
    11/11/2011

Likes: Very quick and easy to use. Strong, durable. Pull the end of the strap with spaced loops through the "master" loop at the other end and then attach the carabiner to the spaced loop that fits the distance you're going for. First time I used this I did it backwards and had the carabiner attached to the "master" loop which required some trial and error as to which "spaced" loop to thread it through. Doing it the "right" way avoids this iterative process.

    Dislikes: Nothing.

  • Chan P. Denver CO
    10/26/2011

Likes: Great little product. Got some sap on it from the tree but washed wight out with hot water.

Dislikes: Very sturdy but the hammock itself packs down smaller than the straps.

Likes: My son will love this to go along with the ENO hammock he bought for camping and backbacking. This is a great accessory. I like the fact that it came with its own stuff sack.

    Dislikes: Nothing noted

  • Steven B. Grand Rapids MN
    8/8/2011

Likes: Makes hanging your hammock super easy!

Dislikes: The farther your trees are apart, the lower your hammock will be to the ground when your are in it. not sure if this is because the straps stretch too much or just a physics thing. Not a huge problem, just try to find trees that are only a couple feet farther apart than your hammock is long.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    7/17/2011

Likes: easy to use once i figured them out. tested 400lbs first day. streched a bit, but easy to re-adjust. much easier than using rope.

    Dislikes: no instructions

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    4/25/2011

Likes: I love how quick and easy the straps are and they won't hurt the trees, I have never found myself where the straps would not reach a tree. well maybe the beach trip we took.

Dislikes: they take a little bit to fold back up so I just use a stuff sack,

  • Mike D. Novi MI
    2/9/2011

Likes: work well and are very tough.

Dislikes: They are heavy and take up space. Not great for a backpacker looking to lighten up their pack.

  • Glenn M. Sacramento CA
    10/18/2010

Likes: No Eagles Nest hammock should be used without the slapstraps there perfect. Quick and easy plus very strong, highly recommend them. There is no better system.

    Dislikes: Nothing

Likes: It is very easy to use and works great

    Dislikes: nothing, it works beautifull

  • Randol H. Lexington KY
    9/18/2010

Likes: It's simple to set up, you can be in your hammock in about 2 minutes using these straps, assuming you have a couple of trees or a post around.

Dislikes: They stretch under load! Mine stretched over night to the point where I was almost sleeping on the ground. They are also a big springy. They fixed number of loops also means that the straps lack fine adjustment.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    7/20/2010

Likes: Works well to quickly string a hammock between two trees. These are the lightest straps available from ENO as the MICRO is currently not available and being redesigned.

Dislikes: You still need some carabiner to provide hanging flexibility as the built in loops are a little far apart. Somewhat heavy in comparison to other options of hanging a hammock such as simply using rope. There is no choice in bag color when ordering the straps.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    5/20/2010

Likes: Nice and easy to setup.

Dislikes: Unfortunately the straps broke and had to send back to get new ones. Now they are working fine and Backcountry Edge did a great job to assist in replacement.

  • Steven B. San Antonio TX
    3/3/2010

Likes: It makes hanging the hammock quick and easy...and that's what I'm all about when I'm camping. The length was more than enough for our needs.

Dislikes: Nothing. The straps may be a little on the heavy side for a hard core backcountry camper, but for us they're great.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: I love my hammock! the slap straps help a lot with camping and are very easy to set up

    Dislikes: everything was good

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    10/23/2009

Likes: Great design and very strong material.

Dislikes: They could always stand to be a bit longer. Sometimes its hard to find trees with just the right distance and additional length would help keep the search time down just a bit!

  • Tim R. Cornelius NC
    6/10/2009

Likes: Makes hanging the hammock a breeze. Extremely easy to use and because of the different lengths, you can hang the hammock between just about anything. Lightweight.

    Dislikes: Nothing. Very easy.
