The Kid Comfort I is a good choice for around town or moderate-duration day hikes. With a sensible child seat, adjustable in height to accommodate a growing child, and a 600 cubic inch zippered storage pouch located underneath the seat, the Kid Comfort I has a carrying capacity of up to 48.5 lbs., including child, pack and gear. A 5-point safety harness offers maximum safety and practicability, allowing for easy handling and adjustment. The Kid Comfort I combines two proven Deuter designs, the Vari-Quick harness system and the Aircomfort back and suspension system to provide individual back length adjustability as well as great ventilation. The Vari-Quick harness system adjusts easily to accommodate varying torso lengths. A strongly-woven strap "ladder" in the back of the pack allows you to select the desired position for optimal comfort and load distribution. The Aircomfort System, consisting of a taught mesh back panel that creates a space between the pack body and your back, allows moist air to freely escape and prevents heat build up. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on your adventures. The supportive tension of the Aircomfort System, load-lifter straps, and shoulder, lumbar and frame padding effectively distribute weight throughout the pack, providing stability and comfort. The Kid Comfort I includes a padded headrest for your child, two gear loops, a side elastic mesh pocket for transporting a water or baby bottle and a built-in foldout stand. Deuter's Sun Roof/Rain Cover, sold separately, can be attached to the Kid Comfort I to protect your child from the elements. Made of 600D ripstop nylon polyester thread with a thick polyurethane coating, the Kid Comfort I has a Fire/Ash color scheme.
