Product Highlights

Deuter's most fully-featured child carrier, the Kid Comfort III provides a fully adjustable suspension system, a swiveling hipbelt, extensive padding and German-engineered safety features. The Kid Comfort III even includes its own integrated sunroof/rain cover and rearview mirror. The Kid Comfort III is suitable for children who can sit up by themselves.

The Kid Comfort III is designed for a full day of adventure. The firm and extra-supportive suspension provides comfort for the wearer, allowing you to travel further and longer with the Kid Comfort III than you can with lesser carriers. Integrated folding "legs" make the carrier sturdy when standing on its own while still conveniently collapsing to maintain a sleek and maneuverable profile when placed on your back.

A sensible child seat adjusts in height to accommodate a growing child. A practical 5-point safety harness offers maximum safety, allowing for easy handling and adjustment. A side entry with buckle closure allows you to easily situate your child in the seat. The Kid Comfort III has a total carrying capacity of up to 48.5 pounds (including child, pack and gear). Two large zippered pockets offer 1200 cubic inches of storage and an elastic back storage pocket provides an additional stash location for clothing, diapers and gear.

The Kid Comfort III utilizes Deuter's Vari-Quick harness system to accommodate varying torso lengths. A strongly-woven strap "ladder" in the back of the pack allows you to select the desired position for optimal comfort and load distribution. The Kid Comfort III relies on the compression and expansion of Aircontact foam to provide ventilation and further enhance load-carrying comfort. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and hipbelt help to keep you cool and comfortable on your adventures. The hipbelt has been designed to swivel as you walk, providing optimal weight distribution, enhancing balance and helping to maintain comfort regardless of the weight that you are carrying. Load-lifter straps, and shoulder and lumbar padding aid in the distribution of weight, providing further stability and comfort.

The Kid Comfort III includes a padded headrest for your child, an integrated zip-away sun roof, a removable/washable chin rest, an internal valuables pocket, dual lifting points, side elastic mesh pockets for transporting water or baby bottles and a 3M reflector for high visibility. A handy child safety mirror is tucked into the hipbelt and allows you to keep an eye on your traveling companion. A zippered side-access pocket makes the Kid Comfort III hydration system (sold separately) compatible. The Kid Comfort III even includes a small stuffed teddy bear.

Likes: Reason I bought Deuter Kid Comfort III because I want to share my outdoor adventure with daughter and wife. My daughter is not old enough for the carrier yet but she she’ll be in this Spring and Summer which is perfect timing.…Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Oregon, Canada here we come! I have tried it on and it very comfortable and lot of back support. I like the features and light weight. I can’t wait to use it.

Dislikes: It’s too pricy but I got it at a great deal at BackCountryEdge. It’s only color, wish there are more colors to choose…like Blue or Red and No footrest for kid.

Likes: This bag is very well built and is of high quality. My daughter sits confortably in the bag and enjoys the view from up top! This bag will certainly be used for a long time!

Dislikes: It's expensive, but a great value. You get what you pay for!

Likes: Extremely well constructed and comfortable, although child seems somewhat heavier becasue they are held some distance from your body (compared to hugginh carriers like the Beco or Ergo) -- effect of torque. Otherwise, no major complaints. 2 YO todler very happy in it and seems comfortable. It feels like it would last through multiple uses and kids and is a great purchase for people who love to hike and want to continue despite having little ones.

Dislikes: The only things I would add on some futere versions would be foot rests for the passenger and an easy way to pull in the kickstand (like a strap or something).

Likes: This is my second kid comfort III and there simply the best made of all the high end carriers.

Dislikes: If they could lower the price that would help but this is a qiality made product so I will live with the price

Likes: Everything! The carrier is perfect for our 20 month old. She was very comfortable during our long hikes and even felt comfortable enough to fall asleep in it. Everything is very adjustable to create the perfect fit for comfort. The built in sun shade worked perfectly and is one of our favorite features. This is an excellent carrier that i would highly recommend to anyone.

Dislikes: Nothing, everything about this carrier was perfect for us.
