Product Highlights
Equipped with a feather-light, flexible frame and suspension, the Futura Zero 40 backpack is designed for the experienced backcountry explorer who wants to pack efficiently and travel fast. Building on the success and popularity of its Futura Series, Deuter has created the Futura Zero line to enable hikers to shed extraneous pack weight without losing the stability and support they've come to expect from Deuter. Lightweight, compact and well cushioned, the Futura Zero 40 has a capacity of 2450 cubic inches, perfect for overnight or weekend backcountry outings. The experienced, ultra-lightweight devotee can even consider using the Futura Zero 40 for multi-day excursions. Deuter introduced its Aircomfort back and suspension system in 1985 and has been fine-tuning and improving upon it ever since. The Futura Zero 40 utilizes Deuter's Aircomfort Futura System, consisting of a lightweight, flexible, anatomically shaped spring steel frame that hugs your torso offering needed support and adds tension to a mesh screened back panel. Moist air can freely escape through the space created between the pack body and your back, preventing heat build up. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and waistbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. The supportive tension of the Aircomfort Futura System, load-lifter straps, shoulder and lumbar padding effectively distribute weight throughout the pack, providing stability and comfort. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, further securing contents and ensuring stabilization of the load. The pack body of the Futura Zero 40 backpack is a single, large compartment. Internal and external zippered pockets on the lid of the Futura Zero 40 provide access to further storage. A large elastic front stash pocket offers convenient, easy-access storage for gear or extra layers of clothing. A small zippered pocket on the waistbelt provides a place to stow valuables. Other special features of the Futura Zero 40 include trekking pole loops, ice axe loops and top lid attachment rings. Two large side mesh pockets allow for transportation of gear or water bottles and a lined internal pocket, built-in tube exit point, and tube clip on the shoulder strap make the Futura Zero 40 pack hydration compatible. An informative SOS panel is imprinted on the underside of the lid, providing valuable instructions for emergency situations. The Deuter Futura Zero 40 backpack has a Cobalt/Steel color scheme.
