Designed for the experienced backpacker intent on hiking fast-and-light without sacrificing fit and comfort, the award-winning Deuter ACT Zero 50+15 pack boasts the same load-hauling suspension and adjustable harness system found on Deuter's popular Aircontact series while weighing a scant 3 pounds, 7 ounces.
Deuter's Aircontact ACT Zero System relies on the compression and expansion of hydro and thermo-phobic Aircontact foam to provide ventilation and load-carrying comfort. An anatomically profiled X-frame system offers a balance of rigidity and flexibility, distributing weight more precisely. Further enhancing fit, Deuter's Vari-Quick harness system adjusts easily to accommodate varying torso lengths. A strongly woven strap "ladder" in the back of the pack allows you to select the desired position for optimal comfort and load distribution. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, further securing contents and ensuring stabilization of the load.
The pack body of the ACT Zero 50+15 is a single, large compartment. An expandable internal collar cinches down tightly when you’re traveling light but can extend beneath the height-adjustable lid to expand capacity from 3050 to 3950 cubic inches. When you really want to travel light, a secure roll-top closure on the extension collar allows you to leave the lid behind and shave 6 ounces off the weight of the pack. When removed, the lid also doubles as a fully-functional, ultra-lightweight summit pack. A large stretch-mesh pocket on the front of the pack is ideal for extra layers or any gear that you may want to access quickly. The panel is so flexible that it can even securely e enclose a helmet.
Other special features of the ACT Zero 50+15 pack include trekking pole loops, ice axe loops and top lid attachment rings. Two large side mesh pockets allow for safe storage of water bottles, tent poles or other gear. Multiple side compression straps help to keep all contents secure and can also serve as gear lash points. A lined internal pocket, built-in tube exit point, and drinking tube attachment on the shoulder strap make the ACT Zero 50+15 pack hydration system (sold separately) compatible.
