Product Highlights

The Deuter ACT Lite 65+10 internal frame pack provides backpackers with 4550 cubic inches of storage capacity and carrying comfort at a weight of just 3 lb 15 oz. With its excellent balance of weight and performance, the ACT Lite 65+10 is ideal for multi-day and extended backpacking trips.

Built on the concept that it's easier to carry heavy loads when the backpack and wearer form a single entity, Deuter's Aircontact Lite System relies on the compression and expansion of hydro and thermo-phobic Aircontact foam to provide ventilation and load-carrying comfort. A continuous air channel along the spine of the ACT Lite 65+10 pack allows warm air to escape and permits cool air to funnel between your back and the body of the pack. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and hipbelt further help to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. An anatomically-profiled X-frame system in the ACT Lite 65+10 pack offers a balance of rigidity and flexibility, effectively distributing weight. Further enhancing fit, Deuter's Vari-Quick harness system adjusts easily to provide optimal comfort and load distribution for torso length sizes ranging from 15"-21" in length. Side compression straps enable you to reduce and expand the size of the pack body as needed, securing contents and ensuring load stabilization.

The ACT Lite 65+10 has a standard capacity of 3950 cubic inches. An integrated, extendible spindrift collar expands that capacity to a full 4550 cubic inches. A zippered divider between the top-loading main compartment and a front-entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can unzip the divider and convert the packbag to a single, large compartment. The ACT Lite 65+10's extendible lid houses dual pockets with secure, zippered entries.

Other special features of the ACT Lite 65+10 include ice axe/trekking pole loops, gear attachment rings on the lid, mesh side pocket and a large, elastic front stash pocket. A lined internal pocket, built-in tube exit point, and tube clip on the shoulder strap make the ACT Lite 65+10 hydration compatible.

The Deuter ACT Lite 65+10 has a Midnight/Silver color scheme.

Colors available: Cranberry/Fire, Emerald/Anthracite, Midnight/Silver

Deuter part numbers: 43770 55600, 43770 24240, 43770 34010

  • . Tucson AZ

Likes: I love this Bag!!! i tend to hike kinda light and this bag holds so much more gear then expected. Living in the extreme desert i have to carry more water than most and this bag held it all so well i didnt even feel the extra weight.

    Dislikes: nothing to dislike.

  • . Honolulu HI

    Likes: Great fit. Very comfortable.

    Dislikes: nothing I disliked

  • Zack C. Providence RI

Likes: This pack is one of the nicest pieces of gear I own. The smallest hardware details are exceptional, from the zippers to the thin, strong material of the pack itself.

Even if this pack didn't have excellent internal and external storage, the fit is so comfortable and easy to dial in that I probably would've purchased it anyway.

The pack is super-light, and we've used them for fairly long 10 day trips with ease (although we do backpack with a relatively ultralight attitude).

Dislikes: No complaints. My fiancee owns the female equivalent of this pack and we both love them.

Likes: Great product, very nice fit

  • Laura D. Linden AL

Likes: Great pack for a weekend trip. Pack is extremely light but still has more than enough space to hold all my gear.

    Dislikes: None

  • . Galloway OH

Likes: I got this pack because it was the same as my friends which I borrowed. I'm very happy with it so far as it is highly adjustable and really comfortable.

Dislikes: Used on a couple of 2 day trips with no complaints.

  • Tway C. Grovetown GA

Likes: My son tried it on at a local outfitter and found its adjust-ability to suit him well. He is a younger scout and we felt he can use this all through his teenage years. Even as he grows taller, the straps will accommodate. Especially helpful was the ability to add the 10 liters or not when unneeded.

Dislikes: I would have liked that it came with a raincover, but those are easy to purchase aftermarket.

  • . lancaster NY

    Likes: Very light
    Quality construction
Keeps back cool on long hikes
    Perfect for 4-5 day trips

Dislikes: Could've used more easy access pockets

  • Vincent F. Miami FL

Likes: The blue color was darker than the picture indicated- love the color. Surprisingly great quality in its construction. I am presently way overweight (260 lbs, was 175 lbs). There are no high quality shops in my area to try-on first; my research lead me to this model due to its wide range of adjustability. Tested at home with about 20 lbs and moderately stuffed. I love it, what a relief knowing that it fits OK and will only get better as I lose weight. This pack is huge inside but seems compact from the outside. Love it.

Dislikes: I knew ahead of time that this pack has limited external storage pockets, and was a little concerned. With the pack in hand, I see sufficient attachment points and the ability to store items under the side compression straps if need be. Since I will not be doing any Artic expeditions anytime soon, I do not forsee the need for much external storage. Being nitpicky, the only less than positive comment might be the water bottle pouches seem small and hard to access, but I have no doubt I can easily deal with it,

Likes: Love everything about this pack

Dislikes: Would be great to have a detachable pack for on belt

  • John B. Montoursville PA

Likes: I am very please with this pack - and I'm picky. Very light - good when I carried 38 pounds for a week. Seemed sturdy, very comfortable - no sweating on my back.

Dislikes: Nothing - I really thought it was excellent. Material thin, but very durable. Not a lot of "pockets" like my previous backpack, but also almost 3 pounds lighter - and currently I'm into - minimal weight.

  • Christopher P. Columbus OH

Likes: For the price this is the best lightweight backpack you can buy. I previously had the Osprey Atmos and it didn't provide enough lumbar support for me. This pack is very comfortable and the aircontact system keeps my back cool. The adjustability provides a perfect fit. The extra 10 liters is perfect for those extra long hikes or mountaineering trips.

Dislikes: The only thing i wish this had were straps on the bottom of the pack to carry a folding sleeping pad. We often go camping with our kids so i need to carry some extra gear and this pack doesn't provide much outside storage for an extra pad.

  • Tyler B. marietta GA

Likes: I like how you can adjust the torso to just about any size needed without much effort. The buckles at first seemed delicate, but they have yet to fail on me so they must be tough enough. I really like the Aircontact system. I still get hot while backpacking, but nowhere near as much as the other packs I have used. The hipbelt is also one of the most comfortably I have tried in this class of packs

Dislikes: One thing I did not like was that the compression straps constantly slip. You have to keep constantly tightening them. I found that by passing the straps through the buckles twice allowed the buckles to grip the straps better.

  • Geoffrey L. Long Island City NY

Likes: This is an amazing pack. It is extremely light and can be expanded to 75 Liters quite easily. The zippers are high strength and the pockets are quite convenient.

Dislikes: The stuff pocket in the front is ok, but I would prefer a zipper down the front for easy access to the main compartment.

  • Ian R. Atlanta GA

Likes: Pack is supercomfortable, especially compared with my 15 year old Gregory Pack. It packs easily and has a good compromise of weight to pack size. Appears very well made, but we will see if it stands the test of time.

    Dislikes: None yet.
