Product Highlights

Made of a unique magnesium alloy, Crescent Moon Magnesium 9 snowshoes offer a great combination of flotation and maneuverability. Magnesium 9 snowshoes provide the same durable performance found in Crescent Moon's trusted Gold series snowshoes, but at a fraction of the weight. Built for loads up to 195 lbs., Magnesium 9 snowshoes allow you to climb or hike easily on packed trails or in backcountry conditions.

Magnesium 9 snowshoes sport Crescent Moon's innovative step-in Single-Pull-Loop (SPL) binding, featuring a molded polyurethane stirrup that captures your foot with a single pull of the loop strap. The SPL system results in equal tension across the harness without the need to fuss with several individual strap adjusters. To close the binding, a polycarbonate buckle ratchets your heel snugly into place for a secure and comfortable fit. Once locked, it will not slip or loosen. In addition, Crescent Moon has applied the aeronautical engineering principle of redundant design to the binding mechanism. With six rivet locations securing the binding strap to the frame, you could cut the support strap in half and still make it home with your binding intact.

To ensure optimal flotation, Magnesium 9 snowshoes are balanced to distribute your body weight across the entire shoe. This design also makes them easier to pull out of the snow, so you don't have to work as hard to walk, hike or climb. The unique teardrop shaped platform is based on the shape of your foot, wide at the ball and narrow at the heel. Instead of forcing you to waddle, the ergonomic design helps your feet clear away from each other with every step, ensuring a smooth, natural stride and allowing you to concentrate on your adventure.

The frames of the Magnesium 9 snowshoes are made from an incredibly lightweight magnesium alloy, which is shaped by hand and welded for incredible strength, durability and reliability. A durable powder-coat finish offers excellent protection from the elements, reduces ice build-up and enhances the aesthetics of the shoes. The decking is made from an ultra durable, lightweight material called TGS. It is extremely resistant to abrasion and textured for additional traction and performance. A transparent front decking helps eliminate the "blind-spot" under the front of your shoe.

Magnesium 9 snowshoes employ Crescent Moon's three-claw crampon traction system, providing optimal grip. Inherently better than standard two-crampon systems, it features a genuine toe claw. As you walk, you use your whole foot, shifting your weight for balance and traction with each step. The stainless steel teeth and claws dig in not only at the heel and ball of your foot, but also at the toe, giving you complete control.

Sold in pairs, Magnesium 9 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of up to 195 lbs.
