Product Highlights

Black Diamond Trail Shock trekking poles incorporate easy-to-adjust external locks, innovative anti-shock features, textured grips and rugged aluminum construction. This combination makes Trail Shock poles a great balance of year-round performance and price.

Black Diamond's patent-pending Control Shock Technology (CST) employs a unique external absorption mechanism that functions smoothly and quietly without diminishing the collapsibility of the poles. CST's progressive, 4-stage shock absorption saves wear and tear on your wrists and maximizes pole performance.

Far easier to adjust than traditional telescoping poles with internal locking mechanisms, the external locks found on Trail Shock trekking poles are ideal for use in all conditions and seasons. Black Diamond's FlickLock system couldn't be much simpler. Even if you're wearing gloves, it's a cinch to open the lock with a flip of your finger, slide the pole section to the required length and tap the lock back into place. Once you've used FlickLocks, you'll wonder why anyone would ever want to wrestle with temperamental internal mechanisms.

Ergonomic grips provide contoured, comfortable handholds. These textured grips extend far down the upper pole sections, allowing you to adjust where you grasp the Trail Shock poles and eliminating the need to shorten or extend the poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Padded, adjustable webbing straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.

Press-fit Flex Tech Tips have integrated low-profile trekking baskets that provide backcountry traction. The WaveLock construction of the Flex Tech Tips allows you to choose between interchangeable carbide and rubber tip (sold separately) ends for optimal performance on varying terrain.

Sold in pairs, Black Diamond Trail Shock trekking poles offer a usable adjustment range of 27"-55" and collapse to 26" for convenient storage and transportation.

Likes: The poles are great, nice and rigid with great flip locks. The hand grips are cushioned and feel comfortable. The starps adjust with ease and have great cushioning. Great price for a great product

Likes: The shock is up high and has a long hanlde grip area so when doing steeps I can hold under it and the shock doesn't engage. I am 6'4" 250 and they handle my weight no problem. I also love the weight and flick lock for easy adjustements. Got a pair for myself, wife and daughter.

    Dislikes: Nothing not to like!

Likes: After borrowing and/or using random walking sticks for a few seasons, this was my first investment in a set of poles. I was grateful to have them on a very icy trail in late November, and what a difference they made on my knees! Very easy to adjust, and that made them easy to collapse and pack. I also found it simple to return to preferred length using the flip-locks and the markings on the telescoping shafts. The weight was also just right - not too heavy to tire me out, nor too light to be sturdy.

Likes: These poles are light but sturdy. The grips are very comfortable, and the shock keeps the slight jarring of planting poles form jarring your wrists. The poles fit in my suitcase for traveling - I took the bottom section out. Also, I recently dealt with Black Diamond for an issue with my wife's poles, and their customer service was awesome!

Dislikes: My one complaint is the wrist straps kept twisting, such that half the time I realized I put my hands through the top instead of the bottom.
