A no-frills offering for the frugal hiker who can do without bells and whistles but demands reliable performance, Black Diamond Trail Back poles offer three-section adjustability and user-friendly external locking mechanisms at an extremely affordable price.
Far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used by many telescoping poles, the external locks found on Trail Back trekking poles are ideal for use in all conditions and seasons. Black Diamond's FlickLock system couldn't be much simpler. Even if you're wearing gloves, it's a cinch to open the lock with a flip of your finger, slide the pole section to the required length and tap the lock back into place. Once you've used FlickLocks, you'll wonder why anyone would ever want to wrestle with temperamental internal mechanisms.
Rubber grips provide sturdy handholds and nylon webbing straps help to reduce stress on your wrists. Press-fit Flex Tech Tips have integrated low-profile trekking baskets that provide backcountry traction. The WaveLock construction of the Flex Tech Tips allows you to choose between interchangeable carbide and rubber tip (sold separately) ends for optimal performance on varying terrain.
Sold in pairs, Black Diamond Trail Back trekking poles offer a usable adjustment range of 27"-55" and collapse to 25" for convenient storage and transport.

Likes: Good no frills trekking poles, so far so good. Hopefully they will stand the test of time, they seem sturdy enough and they work fine to pitch a tarp.
Dislikes: they're a bit heavy but not too bad.
– Huntsville AL
Likes: Good, solid trekking poles. There aren't any frills, but they perform their basic function well. The locking mechanism is very sturdy and hasn't slipped at all.
Dislikes: Not the lightest set of poles, but for the cost it's hard to complain.
– Worthington OH
Likes: Incredibly easy to adjust and the fliplocks hold the poles in place securely.
Dislikes: I wish the wrist loops were a bit larger to be easier to use when wearing gloves.

Likes: I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. BD Trail Backs have been with me on several hikes. Height adjustment is easy with a solid locking mechanism, and they are very durable. I'm looking forward to testing them out on overnight trips. I'll be purchasing another pair for my daughter.
