New for 2008! Building on the buzz surrounding its lightweight, double-wall tents, Black Diamond unveils the Oasis, a streamlined, ultra-lightweight 3-person, 3-season backpacking tent. The Oasis boasts an impressive weight-to-space ratio and provides rugged versatility for varied backcountry conditions.

The freestanding Oasis offers 42 square feet of internal capacity and a peak height of 45 inches. Livability is enhanced by Black Diamond's hub-warped pole construction. This design increases the verticality of the walls, strengthening the tent and maximizing the usable space found inside the Oasis. Variable diameter DAC Featherlite aluminum poles are utilized so that the framework of the tent has strength where it's needed most, but the overall weight of the tent is kept to a minimum. Integrated, fast-connecting clips make it quick and easy to attach the Oasis's tent body to the poles.

Dual front doors provide user-friendly access options. An integrated vestibule over the doors offers an additional 14 square feet of protection from the elements and external storage space for dirty boots, packs and gear. Extensive mesh on the Oasis's tent body enhances ventilation and combats condensation build-up on the interior of the tent.

Fully seam-taped, the Polyurethane/Silicon rainfly offers confident protection against storms and wet weather. A polyurethane coating ensures that the interior of the tent's floor stays dry. An optional footprint (sold separately) adds further protection against ground water, roots and rocks. For light and fast summer backpacking, you can even leave the tent body at home and attach the rainfly directly to the footprint. This stripped down configuration maximizes breathability and cuts the weight of the Oasis even further.
