At a weight of only 2 lb. 10 oz., the Black Diamond HiLight two-person tent nailed down a Backpacker's Gear Guide 2007 Editors Choice award as the lightest two-person tent. The freestanding, single-wall HiLight packs down to a mere 6 in. x 9 in., making it ideal for lightweight backpacking or summit assaults. With 27 sq. ft. of interior space, the HiLight offers enough room for two or serves as a roomy solo shelter. The livability of the HiLight is enhanced by Black Diamond's unique two-and-a-half pole construction. This design increases the verticality of the walls, strengthening the tent and maximizing the usable space found inside the HiLight. Integrated, fast-connecting clips make it quick and easy to attach the HiLight's tent body to the poles. A large door on the HiLight opens wide to provide full access to the interior of the tent body. An integrated mesh window on the door works in tandem with mesh window on the opposite side of the HiLight to offer better ventilation than many other single-wall tents. Twin interior pockets serve as off-the-floor storage options. An optional vestibule (sold separately) provides 13 sq. ft. of exterior protection from the elements and enables you to store boots, packs and gear outside of the main tent body. The canopy of the HiLight is made of breathable, water-resistant EPIC fabric. This innovative fabric helps to combat condensation build-up and protects the interior of the HiLight from snow or rain. The SilNylon fabric used on the floor of the HiLight is extremely durable and completely waterproof. An optional footprint (sold separately) adds further protection against ground water, roots and rocks.
