An improvement on the rounded shafts used in most traditional trekking poles, the elliptical shafts found on Contour Elliptic Carbon poles provide greater stiffness and strength when locked in place. This stiffness gives you the confidence you need to tackle challenging terrain. Balancing strength and lightweight construction, Contour Elliptic Carbon poles employs a carbon fiber upper shaft section and aluminum construction on the middle and lower shafts.

Far easier to adjust than traditional telescoping poles with internal locking mechanisms, the external locks found on Contour Elliptic Carbon trekking poles are ideal for use in all conditions and seasons. Black Diamond's FlickLock system couldn't be much simpler. Even if you're wearing gloves, it's a cinch to open the lock with a flip of your finger, slide the pole section to the required length and tap the lock back into place. Once you've used FlickLocks, you'll wonder why anyone would ever choose to wrestle with temperamental internal mechanisms.

Contour Elliptic Carbon trekking poles employ ergonomic grips with a 15 percent corrective angle for maximum comfort and usability. These textured grips extend far down the upper pole sections, allowing you to adjust where you grasp the poles and eliminating the need to shorten or extend the poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Padded, adjustable webbing straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.

Sold in pairs, Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Carbon trekking poles offer a usable adjustment range of 27"-55" and collapse to 25" for convenient storage and transportation. Press-fit carbide Long Flex Tips work in tandem with low-profile trekking baskets to provide optimal backcountry traction. Adding versatility, Black Diamond Powder Baskets are also included to equip the poles for use in snow.
