New for 2008! Powerful enough for camping trips or base camp illumination, the innovative Black Diamond Apollo lantern is so compact and lightweight, that you can also throw it in your pack for your next backcountry adventure.

A 3-Watt LED works in tandem with dual reflectors and a frosted globe to provide maximum light output without causing glare. A unique dimming switch provides quick and easy brightness adjustability. Operated by 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included), the Black Diamond Apollo offers 60 hours of burn time. The Apollo is also compatible with Black Diamond’s NRG Battery Kit (sold separately) which cuts down on waste and provides you with a renewable energy source. An integrated battery power indicator lets you know the amount of battery left or the charging status of the NRG Rechargeable Battery Kit.

The Black Diamond Apollo has a free-standing design that employs foldable and extendible legs. At full extension, the Apollo can stand at a full height of 9.5 inches which greatly increases the disbursement of light.
