New for 2008! Designed for 4-season adventure and challenging alpine conditions, the innovative and rugged Big Agnes String Ridge 2 is full of performance features. Mountaineers and cold-weather backpackers are sure to appreciate the String Ridge 2's bomb-proof construction.

Slightly tapered from the head to the foot of the tent, the interior of the 3-season String Ridge 2 measures 57" at its widest point and stretches a full 90" in length. With 31.5 sq. ft. of interior space the String Ridge 2 can snugly accommodate two. An integrated vestibule offers an additional 11 sq. ft. of weather-protected external storage space. Interior mesh pockets increase livability by stowing gear and freeing up floor space. Integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for a gear loft (sold separately).

DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles are both lightweight and durable. The single hub/pole design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated DAC Twist Clips to make setting up the String Ridge 2 fast, easy and intuitive. An eco-friendly anodizing process is used by DAC to treat the poles without the toxic chemicals traditionally used on aluminum tent poles. Though the String Ridge 2 is truly freestanding, lightweight, oversized Mega x-peg stakes are included to secure the tent in nasty weather. The tent's stake loops are also oversized to allow the tent to be further secured by skis, ice axes or any other available anchors. Heavy duty guyline is included to help you secure the String Ridge 2 against wind and weather. Reflective highlights in the guyline provide visibility when returning to the tent at night or in poor visibility.

The String Ridge 2's tent body is constructed of breathable nylon rip-stop. Zippered mesh panels provide ventilation as temperatures allow and close securely to help hold warm air inside in frigid conditions. Coated with waterproof polyurethane and armed with a silicone treatment, the Cordura rip-stop floor and rainfly hold up to 4-season demands. The slope of the exterior walls helps to ensure that snow cannot build-up on the roof of the tent and threaten the stability of the String Ridge 2. Integrated fly vents allow air to circulate without allowing inclement weather to reach the interior of the tent. Storm flaps over the vestibules zippers ensure that moisture doesn't creep inside. All of the String Ridge 2's seams are tape-sealed to further protect against the elements.

A custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the Big Agnes String Ridge 2 against moisture, rocks and exposed roots.
