Product Highlights

With its high-performance, water-repellent DownTek insulation and a roomy semi-rectangular shape, the Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag is ideal for 3-season backpacking.

The Lost Ranger 15 Degree bag is insulated with 650 fill DownTek insulation. Down insulation has long been renowned for its compressible properties and efficiency in delivering an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. The shortcoming of down has been its susceptibility to the effects of moisture, losing much of its performance qualities when wet or damp. DownTek insulation utilizes nano technology and a proprietary application process to provide water-repellency and both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial protection. A nylon microfiber rip-stop shell also features a water repellent treatment and provides lightweight durability.

Insotect Flow technology is used in the Lost Ranger 15 Degree to help eliminate cold spots, regulate the movement of down inside the baffles and offer better body heat distribution. Strategically placed Flow Gate construction eliminates lateral and vertical down shifting by using vertical chambers with "gates" to control the position and density of the down insulation.

In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration, many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Plus, the insulation on the bottom of the bag is compressed by the sleeper's weight. Once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes Sleep System is different, joining the bag and pad together. The pad slides into a sleeve on the bottom side of the bag, supplying insulation to the otherwise uninsulated bottom of the bag while the top and sides of the bag are insulated like a traditional sleeping bag. This design provides a secure foundation so you can roll, twist and turn freely during the night without ever rolling off your pad. It also prevents the bag from twisting and engulfing you in an uncomfortable mess. Big Agnes uses this system throughout their entire line of sleeping bags.

The Lost Ranger 15 Degree is available in Regular (fits up to 5'10") and Long (fits up to 6'6") lengths. Once you match your bag with a rectangular sleeping pad of the appropriate dimensions (20" x 72" for Regular and 20" x 78" for Long), spending a night in the Lost Ranger 15 Degree is both warm and comfortable.

A number of performance features further equip the Lost Ranger 15 Degree for efficient insulation. A contoured, insulated hood keeps your head warm and a no-draft collar keeps cold air from creeping in the top of the bag and reaching the interior of the Lost Ranger 15 Degree. A full-length draft tube sewn behind the zipper further ensures that cold air remains outside of the bag. A no-draft wedge protects the connection between the bag and the pad, so that cold air doesn't sneak in between the two. A built-in pillow pocket holds clothes or a Big Agnes Air Core Pillow (sold separately), providing a comfortable resting place for your head and neck.

A nylon stuff sack and mesh storage sack are included with each Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Degree sleeping bag.

  • . Gunnison CO

Likes: So far I absolutely love this bag, I live in Colorado, where the climate isn't always so nice. The Lost Ranger Big Agnes bag is an excellent bag with good technology. Can't wait to use it more climbing the remaining backpacking 14ers!

Dislikes: You have to buy a pad for this bag to work properly! There is 0 insulation on the bottom, but and good r4 and up pad will do.

  • . Lawrenceville GA

Likes: Light, comfortable, fits well with pad and various pillows. Compresses well. Warm on frosty nights if you have layers. Well built, downproof feathers. Draft collar at head is luxurious and add that little bit of necessary warmth on windy nights.

Dislikes: It's a fall bag. I live in North GA and you really need a nice insulated pad to keep your back warm. When the temp drops the oxygen in the pad will dissolve and air pressure will be lost if it gets below 30. Woke up a couple of times with a half inflated pad and cold. Had to upgrade to the 0 Degree Pomer Hoit for hopes of snow camping in a bivy in AK this winter. Not a winter bag unless you have some serious layering and a down puffy. I would keep it but it doesn't suit my needs right now.

Likes: great sleep system (mated with the insulated air core from BA). best sleep ive had back country camping in a long time 6'1" 200lbs). plenty of room to toss and turn without ever leaving my pad. packs down small enough in the given stuff sack to go into my packs's sleeping bag compartment. could definitely get smaller with a compression sack. pillow pocket was great as well.

the fill seems a little light. granted it is 650 not 750 or 800 fill. this past weekend it did not get cold enough to test the temperature rating claims.

    overall i am very pleased.

    Dislikes: nothing at the moment

  • . Addison IL

Likes: Good warm sleeping bag, only have tested in the summertime but breaths well and is comfortable, plenty of room inside to move around. Pillow pocket is the nice plus. Downtek helps in humid climates. Big Agnes sleep system works well in keeping pad in place

Dislikes: The bag is a bit heavy with the air pad, but comfort in the backcountry is worth a few more ounces.

  • Chris Y. Winston Salem NC
