Product Highlights

Breaking the 2 pound barrier, the innovative, freestanding Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 1 is an ultra-light enthusiast's dream come true. Streamlined to eliminate any unnecessary weight, the Fly Creek UL 1 still manages to deliver surprising livabilility at a trail weight of just 1 lb 14 oz!

Tapered from the head to the foot of the tent, the interior of the Fly Creek UL 1 measures 42" at its widest point and stretches a full 88" in length. The 22 sq. ft. of interior space provides ample elbow room and the vestibule offers 5.5 sq. ft. of additional weather-protected external storage space. Integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft (sold separately).

Ample mesh on the tent body and a large mesh door maximize cross ventilation and provide circulation to fight condensation build-up. Coated with waterproof polyurethane, the rip-stop nylon floor and rainfly are lightweight and durable. All of the Fly Creek UL 1's seams are tape-sealed to further protect the tent from the elements.

Lightweight, collapsible DAC Featherlite NSL poles provide the Fly Creek UL 1 with freestanding structure. The single hub/pole design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated DAC Twist Clips to make setting up the Fly Creek UL 1 fast, easy and intuitive. An Eco-friendly anodizing process is used by DAC to treat the poles without the toxic chemicals traditionally used on aluminum tent poles.

Reflecting an overall commitment to maintaining as light a packed weight as possible, super-light x-peg stakes are included to further secure the freestanding Fly Creek UL 1. If you really want to travel light, leave the tent body at home and use the rainfly alone with the optional Fly Creek UL 1 Footprint (sold separately), a tarp-style set-up that weighs a mere 1 lb 6 oz!

Likes: I've wanted to get this tent for a long time and finally broke down and spent the money on it. I haven't regretted that decision at all, since I think it's a fine tent. It's nice and light, and I think it will be durable enough for anything I use it for. I'm 5'7" and weigh 140 pounds. It fits me perfect. I think the tent will work best with sleeping pads that are more narrow in the foot area, since the tent itself follows the same design pattern. I use the Thermarest Neo Xlite which works great with it. I would recommend using the foot print that you can purchase for it or at least some kind of ground cloth to increase the life expectancy of this tent.

Dislikes: It's really a good little tent. It's perfect for backpacking and anything you need in every season but heavy snowfall winters. I've used it just fine in the winter when the only thing I have to worry about is the cold and want to gain an extra barrier between myself and the cold air.

Likes: It's a great little tent for bike touring, weighing barely more than some tarp ad bivy set-ups.

Dislikes: As others reviews have pointed out, it could use just a couple of inches of additional length. At 6'2", my feet would sometimes end up touching at the bottom, resulting in condensation on my bag on some mornings.
