Built especially for backpackers determined to have the lightest freestanding shelter possible, the Big Agnes Fly Creek 2 Platinum tent weighs in at just 1 pound, 13 ounces! Streamlined dimensions and ultra-lightweight fabrics combine to shed any and all unnecessary weight.
The internal dimensions of the Fly Creek 2 Platinum are 86" long by 52" wide at the head, tapering to 42" at the feet. With 28 square feet of interior space, the Fly Creek 2 Platinum is a snug fit for 2 but, at its ultra-light trail weight, it is also a great option for solo backpackers. A vestibule offers 7 square feet of additional weather-protected external storage space. Three interior mesh pockets provide places to stash gear and clothes while integrated gear loft loops offer a connection point for the Big Agnes Triangle Gear Loft (sold separately).
Ample mesh on the tent body and a large mesh door maximize cross ventilation and provide circulation to fight condensation build-up. Coated with waterproof polyurethane, the rip-stop nylon floor and rainfly are extremely lightweight. All of the Fly Creek 2 Platinum's seams are tape-sealed to further protect the tent from the elements.
Lightweight, collapsible DAC Featherlite NSL poles provide the Fly Creek 2 Platinum with freestanding structure. The single hub/pole design works in conjunction with the tent body's integrated DAC Twist Clips to make setting up the Fly Creek 2 Platinum fast, easy and intuitive. An eco-friendly anodizing process is used by DAC to treat the poles without the toxic chemicals traditionally used on aluminum tent poles.
Reflecting an overall commitment to maintaining as light a packed weight as possible, eleven superlight J stakes are included to further secure the freestanding Fly Creek 2 Platinum. When the weather is balmy and you really want to travel light, leave the tent body at home and use the rainfly alone with the optional Fly Creek UL 2 Footprint (sold separately) for a tarp-style set-up that weighs a mere 1 pound, 7 ounces!
