Product Highlights

The Big Agnes Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating sleeping pad combines insulation, foam and a cushion of air to provide superior comfort and warmth. With a thickness of 2.5 in. and efficient I-beam construction, the rectangular Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating pad has a temperature rating down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating pad's rugged 70D hexagonal nylon rip-stop top and bottom have internal polyurethane coatings for waterproof protection, increasing the pad's 3+ season functionality. The I-beam construction and non-breakable EZ-Flate plastic-coated brass valve allow the Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating pad to quickly and easily reach full inflation. You can make fine-tune adjustments to the softness of the pad by manually adding a few puffs of air or releasing some air as needed.

A layer of synthetic PrimaLoft Eco insulation further bolsters the Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating sleeping pad against cold temperatures. A bonded ultra-fine polyester made from 50% recycled materials, PrimaLoft Eco also serves as additional padding and works with the air filled core of the pad to offer maximum comfort.

Designed to work in tandem with rectangular Big Agnes sleeping bags as well as other brands of bags, the Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating sleeping pad is available in Petite (20" x 66"), Reg (20" x 72"), Long (20" x 78") and Wide (25" x 78") dimensions. Each Big Agnes Dual Core 2.5 Semi Self Inflating pad includes a stuff sack and a repair kit.

Likes: This pad works well with the Big Agnes sleeping bag. It is easy to control the firmness of the pad and adjust to my comfort level. The combination of the pad and the Big Agnes sleeping bag has provided the best sleeping I've had on the last 3 trips taken with it. Ideal for car camping

    Dislikes: Nothing

Likes: The level of comfort is better that of a self inflating pad, and weighs less.

Dislikes: takes a little while to get all of the air out, but the comfort this pad offers is worth it.

  • Ross B. Knoxville TN
    12/10/2011

Likes: I've only had it for a few days, but I've laid on it quite a bit. It seems to hold air well, and it is comfortable. I can't testify to the insulating quality, but am curious to see how it performs.BTW,it doesn't really take that long to blow up. it actually will self inflate...just not very much- you will have to do most of the work. Reading other reviews had me worried, but if you're not in a hurry or worn out- then it's not an issue.

    Dislikes: seems fine.

Likes: Packs small. Inflates easily compared to pads that are not self inflating. Comfortable. Was warm down to 25 degrees but haven't used in colder temps. Store unrolled like a sleeping bag because of the insulation inside.

    Dislikes: none

Likes: We've been very happy with these mats. They offer great comfort is a compact size. They're constructed of durable material and we have had no leaks in a season of backpacking. The valves are simple to operate and quality made.

Dislikes: They are somewhat slick so if your bedding down on any kind of slant you'll be doing some shifting in the night.

Likes: This pad is light, compact, yet warm. I was worried that it might be a problem to inflate it after a day of hiking, since all my previous pads have been completely self-inflating. It did take a couple of minutes of blowing to get it to my comfort level, but it is definitely worth it. I have never slept so well in 30 years of backpacking.

Dislikes: The only improvement I can think of is if they could figure out a way to make it completely self-inflating, yet keep it as comfy as it is now. This isn't likely to happen, but that would make this product absolutely perfect in every way.

  • Jay H. Monterey CA
    4/3/2010

Likes: It is easy to inflate, stores just as compact as the manufacturer states, and kept my girlfriend very comfortable. She had insisted on taking a queen-size, 12v battery-inflated mattress (for home use) on a camping trip. I offered this sleeping pad instead to assuage her - she slept great!

    Dislikes: Nothing - 100% satisfied

  • Kenneth C. Lynn Center IL
    1/6/2010

Likes: Worked great. Even had to let some air out to be comfortable. Slept like a baby. Fit great in my Big angus bag. Nice not to sleep on the cold ground.

Dislikes: Takes a while to blow up. But it worked fine.

  • Travis I. Boise ID
    3/12/2009

Likes: Very small, fits the stuff sack nicely. Only takes a couple of minutes to inflate. Insulated yet much smaller than my therma-rest pad.

Dislikes: A bit of a snug fit in my sleeping bag pocket and sticks out the top quite far.
