Product Highlights

Built especially for couples, the Big Agnes Big Creek 30 Degree Double-Wide sleeping bag is extra-roomy and extra-comfortable. Lightweight, compressible synthetic insulation allows the Big Creek 30 Degree Double-Wide bag to pack down small enough for backpacking or for family and car camping.

In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. In this configuration, many people find themselves rolling off the pad at night. Plus, the insulation on the bottom of the bag is compressed by the sleeper's weight. Once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes System is different, joining the bag and pad together. The pad slides into a sleeve on the bottom side of the bag, supplying insulation to the bottom of the bag while the top 2/3 of the bag is insulated like a traditional sleeping bag. This design provides a secure foundation so you can roll, twist and turn freely during the night without ever rolling off your pad. It also prevents the bag from twisting and engulfing you in an uncomfortable mess.

The Big Creek 30 Degree Double-Wide is designed to be used with any two 20" x 72" Big Agnes REM sleeping pads (sold separately) or other branded pads with comparable dimensions.

A doublewide insulated ergonomic hood, draft tubes located along the length of the dual zippers and separate no-draft collars for each person lock in heat and keep out cold air to enhance the warmth and comfort provided by the Big Creek 30 Degree Double-Wide. Built-in pillow pockets hold Big Agnes Air Core Pillows (sold separately), clothes or other pillows, providing a comfortable resting place for heads and necks.

The Big Agnes Big Creek 30 Degree Double-Wide fits to 6' 0" and includes a nylon stuff sack and cotton storage sack.

Likes: This is a good sleeping bag and not too heavy considering it is being used by two people. We have used it twice so far, and have not come close to pushing the temperate limit. It was easy to unzip and use in warm weather. We also used it once when it was a little bit cooler and we zipped it up.

Dislikes: We have always used 3/4 length them-a-rests for backpacking. These fit fine in the pad sleeve of the bag, however it was a noticeably cooler and more uncomfortable where our feet hung over the pad then with a traditional bag. We may try putting a small piece of a foam pad there or may go with longer pads. I am not sure yet.
